good maintained trail if biking direction is critical the best route is to stay left you will go down the steepest hills and up the longer but not as steep the steep ones are very steep to try and ride up trail is part old fire road and some trail most is shaded but the power line hill is in the wide open has lake access about half way

Great Hike

Well marked!!
Most enjoyable morning hike!! Mostly easy with some uphill climbing!

Beautiful hike with a “rest area” where you can swim!!! Love this hike!

We took our kiddos 9 and 6 (1 yo in pack). If you park at the actual trailhead I would suggest going to the left at the 1st loop or just don’t do that part at all. It’s very steep with loose dirt and rocks without much reward. The other part of the loop is my fave part of the entire hike. So pretty and pretty easy going. Wish the lake was more visible during the 2nd loop but still a nice easy hike.

This is a moderate trail . In many places it's very narrow. If you follow the entire trail it's quite an incline, not an easy trail by no means. My fitbit said we climbed 52 flights of stairs when we completed the loop. The views were amazing and the hike was very much enjoyed.

Great trail; wonderful in the spring to see wildflowers.

Great variation but I only do it in winter months because of abundance poison ivy.

Easy hiking trail with enough elevation to create interest. Thanksgiving Day trek with great views.

Very good changes in elevation and footing. Most of hike is spent walking through the forest with trees surrounding one on all sides, as if within a tunnel of foliage. During one section, the lake is immediately adjacent, and access to the lake makes swimming or picnicking possible. In other sections, the trail leads through fields and up hills filled with wild flowers.
The previous reports of spiders is accurate. Be aware of spider webs. Of course spiders who place webs across paths like this are very unlikely to be on these strands, for it would limit their lifespan, and they aren't dangerous to humans.

This trail is absolutely awful! I've done many trails but never have I encountered so many spider webs I turned around after half a mile. It was a shame because it has very pretty views it just wasn't worth running into spider webs every ten feet.

This is my favorite "short trail." The elevation gives you a decent workout without beating you to death

The trail was very thin past the split, and there looked to be a good bit of poison ivy along the sides.

Beautiful hike along the river. Well-marked and easy to follow. Disappointed that there was not a good area to get out and swim.

Excellent trail! I actually like the top better than the part running adjacent to the river.

I will definitely do this again.

Great intermediate trail with lots of shade, wide trails and not alot of roots, rocks nor washes. lake is at a distance a majority of the trail. between the loops (as shown on the map) there is a high water bypass and a closed trail- not on the map nor well marked returning. cabin 1-8 / 8-12 loop (north most) has a 150 yard climb if you go east (right) first. much more gradual west (left) first. parking is limited which I imagine limits traffic on this otherwise dandy Norris State Park Trail. Good job park people!

great easy trail

All around good trail. A few small hills for your change in elevation pleasure and level strolls down by the river to balance out the cardio. It's a great setting for the cardio impact of your choice. Seriously

Took the Wildflower Walk on the lower portion of this loop and it was wonderful. The trail is not difficult and we saw many varieties of wildflowers and enjoyed scenic views of the Clinch River and Norris Dam. Will definitely be back.

Hiked the low side first. sets up a majority of the climbing right past the halfway mark. super winter views along and above the river. great quick hike.

Perfect in early spring when the wildflowers blanket the forest floor. Can be a bit overgrown in late spring/early summer.

Had a wonderful hike on this trail. It had great views and provided plenty of exercise if that's what you want. It is a very narrow trail with embedded rocks in areas and some very steep drop-offs. Not for the faint of heart. No way could or would one want to take a stroller. I think the gentleman was referring to the Songbird Trail on the other side of the river. This is definitely not a greenway. One of the more challenging trails I have hiked. The wildflowers were fantastic.
