The concrete trail is wide and in great repair! It had been raining hard for several days before I hiked the trail and there were no wet or muddy spots and that is huge for me. So why only three stars? Users are trashing the trail. There was nothing scenic about the trail. Finally, i was with the family and after a mile we turned around because there were no benches to let the little ones rest and we were worried we’d have to carry them if we got too far in.

A beautiful neighborhood park that offers volleyball, soccer, Trail and paved running. A small dog park, frisbee golf, a small lake for fishing and large pavilion. Very family oriented but lots of open space for individuals needing some alone time as well.

This is one of my favorite walks at Ijams. Semi-long, but pretty easy. Beautiful views. Well-maintained. I take my eight-year-old on his bike and my three-month-old in the jogging stroller, and we all enjoy it.

paved, flat, nice along the creek, but lots of freeway noise, even with cicadas trying to drown it out

On a visit to Knoxville in April 2012, I combined part of the Neyland Greenway with the James White Greenway for a nice long walk to burn off some calories after a great meal at Calhoun's On The River. I would recommend both (the greenways and the restaurant). Lots of views of the Tennessee River.

I rode the Greenway as part of a trip that started with the Third Creek Greenway. It's pretty good as long as you don't get nervous riding by a busy road for part of the trip. It has several nice areas beside the river and Volunteer Landing is nice too with the fountains and waterfalls. It's not as well marked as it should be and signs in one area lead me to believe that I could reconnect with Third Creek Greenway from the Worlds Fair Park trail. This lead me to be momentarily lost in the maze that is UT Campus. Fortunately if you can see the river it is easy to get back on track.

Nice Greenway, one of my favorites. As of 5-3-17 there is a reroute near the beginning of the west end. The reroute takes you in front of the UT Sports Complex on the sidewalk on Sutherland Ave and you turn south before you get to West High School to get back on the Greenway. The rest of the trip is pretty smooth except for the occasional bump or crack in the pavement. Tyson park looked great, the creek was clear and hardly any litter. They have completed a lot of work on the trail since I rode it last year. The new construction is nice. All in all a great ride!

The trail is a nice place to walk with your dogs or family and can make for a great activity in the mornings or early evenings. My wife and I live close by and frequent this trail when we need to blow off some steam or get some of the energy out of our two dogs. There is a lot of tree cover and can make for a cooler walk during the spring and summer months. The only downside to this trail is the amount of trash that can be found along the path, and this is due in large part to the scarcity of trash bins. that being said, if you pick up after your dogs, be prepared to carry your bags for a while, or take them for a bathroom break at the entrance. Parking isn't a problem, but I would definitely research the map to see what entrance you want to start at.

My favorite place to run in Knoxville. Easy to get several miles if you connect the paved walkway, the dirt trails, and the track at the elementary school next door. :) a couple great hills if you want to add elevation to your run. Scenic cross country kind of setting

would give 5 stars if it weren't for the greenway going through the Calhouns parking lot. Could be dangerous.

Good connector on a run from East Knoxville to the river greenways and Morningside Park has improved since they built the new condos nearby. Running along James White Parkway is not the best though :/

This is a nice section of the overall Knoxville greenway system. It's perfectly flat and runs right along the river. You can park at the east end and walk/bike/etc. to the Neyland end, where you can continue on or detour into downtown Knoxville. It goes by the boathouses, so you can get a look at some huge yachts if that's your thing.
