Always a nice and easy hike. Great for kids with the nature center and play area.

NOT a great place to go if you have kids, or do not want to be around copious amounts of drugs and alcohol.

Took our dog with us for a walk, and almost instantly realized how much better our local parks are for this.

If you are into drugs, underage drinking, and young trashy girls in skimpy bikinis; then this is the place for you.

The lake side trail up to the cemetery was a bit challenging . Other than that this place has easy hikes . Love the sights tho - very relaxing for a short Sunday hike.

Trail itself pretty easy and isn’t bad at all. However, people who visit don’t have enough respect to clean up after their self. Trash all over the place.

Nice part is there are several side trails. Trail markings could be better at times. Overall, it was good cardio!

This is one of my favorite walks at Ijams. Semi-long, but pretty easy. Beautiful views. Well-maintained. I take my eight-year-old on his bike and my three-month-old in the jogging stroller, and we all enjoy it.

Loved this trail can't wait to try another trail with my dogs.

Great trails and well maintained.

Big disappointment because it has so much potential. It’s neat to have a nice hiking trails so close to downtown and the quarry views are fantastic. Recently the city invested a lot of money in sprucing up the main parks over look and the old fort Dickerson Civil War fort. But it’s odd that this trail doesn’t connect to the park. At least not officially. There are some unofficial trails that do connect to the park and there’s a lot of potential if they were well-kept. But, unfortunately, they are trashy and you pass by more than one homeless camp along the way. The city really needs to invest in making a complete loop around the quarry and back to the park while cleaning up and policing the park a little better. If they do that, I would give this five stars.

Well-maintained paved trail. Gradual inclines near the bridge and the UT buildings. Not a difficult short run, but multiple laps or runs above 8 miles probably deserves a moderate rating. People I came across seemed very friendly.

Did not have a good signs or directions but thankfully the bikers there were nice and showed us the way so we had a great time.

I love Ijams, there are trails for everyone from beginners to seasoned hikers.

Great easy trail with beautiful lake/river views. I love the option to hike different difficulties and change up the scenery. Normally I dislike trails with multiple trails all attached, but these were clear and not all over the place.

Directions from alltrails app are not correct. Entrance is prior to where it has you turn.

Also please note there is a leash law in TN. I encountered 2 off-leash dogs on this trail. It’s one thing if your dog obeys all commands even while distracted, it’s another if your dog runs up to my often time unfriendly and protective leashed dog and puts all of us, including my child, in danger. USE A DANG LEASH... PLEASE!

went by myself though and did not feel safe since it was pretty secluded. tons of trails

Great view of TN river and the wealthy peoples houses
Nice easy trail

Not much of a trail, good if you’re looking for an extremely easy short walk.
But the quarry is beautiful

Favorite trail to run so far in Knoxville. Not sure if many (or any) other trails in the area where you can run for 3 hours without going over the same ground. Spectacular forest trails! Wish some of the bike trails and hiking trails were more clearly marked but I’m sure overlapping maps are out there. If your first time exploring be sure to allow extra time for an unhurried experience.

This is a beautiful hike! I loved the views. I wish there were better trail markings and information. It took a while just to figure out where the trail was located.

Great hike with some ups and downs that gets your heart pumping.

This is an EASY trail. It's not a "Moderate" trail. It really isn't even a trail as it is almost completely paved. The incline is gradual, and I didn't feel even a tiny bit taxed to walked the whole path.

The parking lot is large but a little uncomfortable to get out of since traffic is moving at 50mph+ and curving with sight-lines impeded. The path has some nice views of beautiful houses, the lake, and some nice UT buildings.
It's very clean. I believe the UT golf team trains next to it. The other people I met on the trail were very friendly.

Lovely hike. Would have been better without broken glass on the trail. Also, not really a loop.

fun trail with an area for my dog to swim

Pretty water views and no litter make this little park a nice place to visit. There were only a few people when we were there, -all of them fishing. The entrance is hidden, so of you've not been before, it will creep up on you. Also of note, there are actually 2 entrances-- one north, one south of the bridge, and both have parking.

This is a nice comfortable trail where changes in elevation can be added in by taking side trails. One of the main trails that runs nearby is for mountain bikes only. I actually ran down part of that trail, and it would be amazing for biking. By adding that section of trail into the overall path, I got an excellent change in elevation and added quite a bit of distance as it connects to trails that are lower down the mountain.

A nice little city hike. Several nice overlooks too. It would be nice if the city would go in and dispose of the litter and leftovers from campsites of yester-years. I would definitely do it again though, and bring my swimming trunks!

Awesome ... nice trails for beginner and expert , once you get into the mountain ain't matter if you are beginner or expert ... take the challenge and you will make it.

This is a good cardio hike since the trail is up and down the entire way. Views are nice and I love that it's dog friendly. This is a great option if you want to get in the woods but don't necessarily want to drive very far. I do wish there with more trail markers since there are many splits.

There's a parking lot where you first enter. If you keep driving down the dirt road it takes you to a second (closer) parking lot. It's a stone's throw to the quarry. Not a hike at all. But the quarry is gorgeous! Beautiful, clear water. Trees. Large rocks to sit on. Perfect venue for a picnic.

I went on a busy day. Lots of ppl so maybe that's why I felt totally safe. People were friendly. Everyone had a huge inflatable rubber duckie or blow up floaty of some kind. The quarry water is warm with sudden VERY DEEP drop offs. Be very careful. Ppl giving zero cares were rock climbing up the sides of the quarry then jumping in the water.

They had trash and recycling cans out (thank you for recycling!). That may have cut down on the litter others complained about. I didn't see any litter on my trip. Clean & beautiful.

Took my dog with me as I hiked this trail and I really enjoyed it! It's really not hard at all and there aren't many hills.
The view was nice (except as someone already pointed out, there were power lines that somewhat blocked it). However, even driving up to the trail head there are places you can stop and park and enjoy the view without having to go on the trial. I'm definitely going to go hiking here again!
