Went here on a day while exploring Cades Cove.  My biggest advice is: hike it in the morning because of shade.  Lots of the trail is uncovered, so in the late Spring it gets very hot.  It is a longish trail that is up and down both ways.  The waterfall was nice, but the payoff compared the cost of the long hike isn't there for me.  If you are already doing Cades Cove then yes go ahead and do it, but I wouldn't make a special trip to this hike.

Beautiful trail, easy to moderate. Lots of stream crossings and slick rocks though. Went after a night of thunderstorms. Probably easier to step stone across during dryer times of year. Good parking area too

Enjoyed the short hike. As a beginner hiker this was perfect exercise w a little cardio, but beautiful at the falls.

Great trail! Abundance of wildlife. I saw deer, turkey and some incredible birds. I would definitely consider this a moderate trail due to the elevation changes.

Beautiful hike

Nice short trail. Well maintained. Some old growth trees and nice birds.

Great hike and some mother daughter time. We live nearby so will go again.

Nice relaxing hike.

Beautiful place to walk with my 7 month old!

The hike is short and paved, too steep for wheelchairs (posted on a sign there). This trail is more for the view, which is excellent.

NOT a great place to go if you have kids, or do not want to be around copious amounts of drugs and alcohol.

Took our dog with us for a walk, and almost instantly realized how much better our local parks are for this.

If you are into drugs, underage drinking, and young trashy girls in skimpy bikinis; then this is the place for you.

Nice easy trail. Good view.

great views and very nice trail... love it

very beautiful place, with creek and waterfall.

Awesome trail for backpacking.

Nice trail. Loved the large footbridge. Made one mistake and kept hiking 1.5 after the waterfall. 6.88 total a bit much for an older guy.

Scenic hike along the creek. Several small waterfall areas. A little crowded if you're looking for seclusion but the falls is worth it.

This trail needs maintenance badly. My friend and I decided to hike it spur-of-the moment today. I hike all 12 miles of this trail 2-3x a year. I expect it to be weedy and overgrown when it is late summer.

Well, it is only mid-May and it is already overgrown. In 2 weeks, parts of the trail will be covered. Bearwaller needs "friends" or rangers with weed-whackers. My friend and I turned backed after going out from the picnic/camping/marina area trailhead to the 2.5 mile marker. It was just too dang weedy.

Yeah, there are nice overlooks and the trail gives you a workout, but it isn't worth the weeds. I took 2 ticks off of my ankles when we got back to the car. When I got home to Nashville, I discovered 3 more tiny ticks on my socks and 2 more stuck in my skin. I sprayed bug spray with Deet on myself before I did the hike, but it didn't do the job.

If you hike this trail, be prepared for overgrowth and ticks. Wear long pants and use bug spray. I personally will not hike it again until maybe late October.

Terrific trail with some stunning water views! The waterfall is well worth the hike, and the going back flies by. My two larger dogs did pretty well with some of the more slippier rock sections, and would recommend being ready to assist a small dog in a few spots. Highly recommended, we had a blast!

This loop is more moderate than hard. Really enjoyed it though. Walked around a bend on Lead Cove and a doe was in the middle of the trail. It must be accustomed to hikers because it slowly ambled off the trail so I could pass.
Bote Mountain had a fairly large blow down that was not any fun to climb over.

It can be very difficult if you are out of shape for the sharp elevation climbs but very traveled and clean

Great, easy trail with beautiful lookouts!

This was fun! The hardest part was the beginning. It was relatively short, but it leads to a breathtaking view. I wouldn't advise bringing children though.

Nice hike. Went early before it got to hot. Haven’t done this trail in 20 year. Nice sights.

Very overgrown and little used. Hard to see where the trail is and would have gotten totally lost were it not for this app. Not for me.

Very nicely designed, maintained and it has lots of parking and bathrooms. The red hike is legit when it says difficult. short and sweet. The trails connect in different areas so you can really customize it to fit what you want. Will definitely be going back.

Perfect long hike outside of town. Next time I will bring lunch and eat at a picnic table at the second trail head/parking lot. Was there on a Saturday and plenty of parking/not crowded. FYI The only toilet I found there was located at the first trailhead when you come off that main road .

Nice hiking trail with some hills, part of it along the creek. We clocked it at 2.4 miles from the parking lot.

Loop? Not really. Tangled up with a horse trail that leaves you 2kil from your car. Ankle breaking loose stones the size of softballs. Muddy track very very poorly marked.
