Short trails, great for a quick walk in nature close by. I don't know if it was just this time of year but there were parts of the trail where the brush was totally overgrown and me and my pup were high stepping in knee high thicket. Most of the trail was well kept. Also there are some points in the trail that could be marked clearer for those who don't have the greatest sense of direction. There are some forks in the trail with no markers indicating which path leads to where, so know that. Overall a seemingly good option close to town for a quick one in nature.

Wouldn’t call it a trail, but to each their own. It’s my go to running spot because it’s near home. I do love the ability to run near the creek and over some bridges so it’s very pretty but more of a sports park than anything else. Have ran about 13 miles through the drakes creek trails and the streets nearby so you can do some longer distances if you are creative.

As someone else said, not much of a hiking trail. Hiking trail to me means my shoes are going to get dirty ;) It is a paved path around the park. It does get messy due to the ducks and geese around the park as well. And it can be very buggy. Glad I sprayed bug spray before i went or the mosquitos would have had a Hay day! It would be a nice hike with kids, elderly and pets since it is paved and flat.

First....directions. Take the address listed here but hang a left on to the road before the park toll booth. If you go past the toll booth you've gone too far. The road to the left will take you down across from the Dam.

The paths are well maintained. A bit muddy right now due to rain but over all not bad. there are a lot of side small paths that just lead back again. Stick to the main ones.

Short trail. Flat with no inclines at all. A couple of wooden paths / bridges over seampy water. I would imagine the water will dry up. and in another few weeks it will be mosquito breeding ground for sure !

A decent short path if you're looking for something easy and quick. Plus you can check out the Dam.

One person mentioned not feeling safe. There about half a dozen cars there while I walked through. Didnt see anyone till I was leaving. Just hike smart is all. ;)

This was a nice easy trail for our family. We are just starting our hiking adventures and this was a perfect introduction. Our kids are 4 and 5 and they enjoyed being in nature and looking for wildlife. If you are an advanced hiker this is not for you but for a family and beginners it is perfect!

kinda lame

only 2 stars because it's next to a river. this is by soccer fields and very industrial. more a park instead of a greenway. goes about 4.2 mi.

Nice walk/run path. Hard surface the whole way no off trail spots. Not very challenging, but to just get out and walk it is great.

Not much of I hiking trail more of just a walking or running trail. It's all paved and I take my dog here at least once a week since it has a large dog park.

It's a straight up and back cement trail. It was an easy run, pretty fall colors.

This trail is pretty short but the scenery is really nice. I usually start at the friendship bridge and do the loop counterclockwise. There's a nice mostly clean creek that my dog likes to lay in near the end of the trail on hot days. Plus they just got done building the new dog park here. This park makes for a good dog friendly day.

This trail consisted of a flat straight paved path with three different length unpaved loops on the right side. The whole trail was too short for my taste and some areas seem to have smaller paths which was kind of neat but most of them would lead to dead ends or quickly circle back around pointlessly. Some of the trail loops through a wide open power line area which was over grown when we visited (tick heaven) so it was hard to tell where the trail started back up again. There is a long wooden deck part that I'm guessing is normally over a swampy water area but it was completely dry when we were there. It was the most interesting part of the trail.

I use this path pretty regularly (couple times a month) as it is right next to my nearest dog park. It's a decent little path that I generally repeat 3-5 times on a run.

Pros: Nice waterside walk, very easy, dog park nearby, easy access

Cons: You aren't allowed to bike on half of the loop, so the information isn't entirely accurate, heavily used by slow walkers so it isn't the greatest for running during peak times, small section near a large "duck feeding" area, so many children/elderly to watch out for.

Trails are wide and well kept. Really nice wooded scenery with a bridge that goes over one of the swamp areas. Trails are not very well marked and has a couple of trails that split off to dead ends. We only saw a couple of other people there but it doesn't appear to be the safest place to hike.

A great trail for kids! Check out my complete review at http://nashvillefunforfamilies.com/old-hickory-trail/ . I explored the trail with my 2 and 7 year old. There are tips and pictures.

Located a couple of hundred yards from Old Hickory Dam, this trail is a nice little escape into the woods while still staying well within the confines of the metro area. The trail is flat and consists of a straight paved path with 3 pine-needle-strewn loops that act as offshoots from the main trail.
