Terrific trail with some stunning water views! The waterfall is well worth the hike, and the going back flies by. My two larger dogs did pretty well with some of the more slippier rock sections, and would recommend being ready to assist a small dog in a few spots. Highly recommended, we had a blast!

I would recommend this trail to anyone. there are some pretty steep and challenging areas. bring a hammock to set up near the falls, you will need a nap.

Nice hike, would recommend hiking shoes. Lots of rocks to walk over, there's a drop off in the water, below the falls, 20 feet out from the falls.
Beware small parking lot!

love this hike! but lot is small and always full, be prepared to possibly park down by the National forest sign

awesome falls, one of the most popular trails in the area. Few primitive campsites by the river (not the falls) lot is small and always full. approx 5.5 miles round trip from 321, app 175 steps from Dennis cove.

It was a beautiful waterfall and fairly easy hike but the rock stairs going down to the waterfall and coming back up were really rough. It was a very strenuous hike back up. I would not recommend bringing your dog. My greyhound struggled, even with her long legs.

Nice hike on old railbed. This trail offers views of the gorge, railway tunnels, wildflowers, the sound of gushing Doe River along the way. Well kept by owners.

Very nice trail with the creek, rock walls and rhododendrons-lots of natural beauty to enjoy. Now once you get to the rock stairs the fun is over! Difficult going down and definitely coming back up! I’m not in the best shape right now after a very long winter but even in shape I think it would be difficult. That being said, I still think it was so worth it! We’ve had rain so the falls had a lot of water flowing over the rocks. Absolutely beautiful!

From Hampton trailhead, if you want a loop near the end of the trail and just before the falls, continue along trail [bypassing the initial decent] up to the AT. Continue along the trail for 10 to 15 minutes until the stone stairway trail [on the right] down to the falls, from there follow Laurel Falls trail back to the parking lot.

Lovely trail, amazing stone stairs and a beautiful water fall.

Probably one of the best views you will ever see with such easy access and limited amount of people. Forms aren't a big deal. The trail just shows a different view of the world.

Great conditions, hiked on 3/27 with 4, 8, 9, and 12 year olds. You need to watch the little ones in parts. There are very steep drop offs. The waterfall at the end is beautiful and the trail crosses the middle of it.

Do not even attempt to bring a stroller. We saw a few folks with umbrella strollers and it was a bad idea.

My 18month old daughter and I mastered this trail today. It was such a beautiful day. It was a little confusing starting out, but once we found the trail it was a piece of cake. Pay attention to the trail markers... we missed the waterfalls by a mile because we were following the blue markers. Follow the white markers. It will lead you down about 250 stone stairs right to the waterfall! If you’re backpacking (like I was with our baby carrier) it’s HELL getting back up! All in all it was a beautiful hike and I am so happy we did this.

Fun hike, stairs are worth the climb, in and out, to see the waterfall!

One of the best trails in the area! Whether you start at Cove or in Hampton both trails are very scenic and beautiful. Either way you won’t be disappointed.

Fun overnight hike but could be done in a day.

Beautiful falls and nice hike!

well maintained trail, good for taking kids

Absolutely beautiful! Be prepared to hike about 370 stairs ☺ This trail is not actually 5.8 miles, only about 2.4 to the falls.

Really enjoyed hiking with friends here. We were blown away with the views: Gorge, river, railroad, all under snow was truly awesome. We will be back soon. Ang out.

Perfect hiking weather. Great company. Trail had snowy patches but overall clear.

Beautiful hike through the laurels and the falls are worth the many steps.

Beautiful trail! I don't think it's actually 5.8 miles but we took the rock stairs down to the falls and went back up the stairs instead of the rest of the loop. The stairs are pretty steep but doable.

Absolutely beautiful place, stunning waterfall. Great trail with varying degrees of difficulty. Several sites for camping. No facilities. Small parking area with close proximity to town.

Nice trail. Be sure to wear good shoes since the railroad gravel can be a little rough on your feet. There are some amazing views of the river below, but not too many easy paths to get to it.

My 1st waterfall I hiked too! Nice hike and beautiful waterfall!
