Went for a Sunday evening dog walk/hike. Quiet area, beautiful bird songs, only passed two other people on the trail. Several hours after a rain and the mud wasn’t bad. The puddly areas were raised on planks. Two places where trees were downed were tricky to get through but otherwise enjoyable. The pup got totally muddy but loved it. The pine straw covered much of the trail so it was navigable in just Chacos. It also looked recently cut back in large parts so brush was in check.
The mosquitoes were vicious though! Definitely wear long sleeves!

Fairly easy trail beautiful sunsets at the pier

Nearly drove to Snoopers Rock on the ATV trail next to the parking area - in an Audi SUV - no 4WD needed. The Cumberland Trail is next to the rock and you can go for miles and miles along the ridge line. Great hike, even if it’s a bit toasty in mid-July.

A little confusing to get to the trail head. But once you are there, the hike is well marked, and a great intermediate hike! The view from the rock is worth the 5 miles on a warm and clear day!

Hiked a section of this trail. Seemed mostly for bikes but I only saw hikers on the trail when we went. Lots of little up and down hills, good moderate trail. Bugs and ticks were abundant, check yourself!

Nice little loop with several nice views of the river. Definitely watch sunset on the pier.

Great trail as you go by the Indian Rockhouse and a lookout or two before you get to Snoopers rock...If you looking for a easy to moderate trail with a spectacular view at the end this one is a must.

We had a warm day yesterday and decided to check out this trail. Very pleasant and easy. It was a little muddy but there where platforms through the swampy parts. Will do again.

Great spot - great for dogs - lots of access to the river at certain spots to cool off and hang out. This is a favorite during hot summer days - you get your own personal Beach!

Nice short hike, color splotches on trees make trail-finding easier

Really pretty.

Well, very disappointed. I planned on doing a 13 mile hike called Signal Point. The coordinates AllTrails gave me, brought me to an Amish village. So I kept going to the different coordinates till I gave up and went to Snoopers Rock. I did 7.6 miles. Mostly boring for me, but the snoopers rock at the end made it worth it. — at Snoopers Rock.

Easy walk, short glimpse of the TN river along the way, lots of mosquitoes due to the wetlands areas. We saw a couple white tail deer, a coyote and a box turtle while walking. For a quick walk through the woods near downtown Chattanooga I recommend it.

Great all around trail. A lot of elevation change which challenges some of the time and relieves others. Beautiful wooded scenery and views of the river the entire hike. Make sure to make the hard right uphill near the "x" branches blocking the trail. Perfect 3-5 hour hike. Once you get to the rock, you cannot be disappointed.

Great hike today. We'll worth hiking the three miles instead of driving to the top.

We literally drove our car to Snoopers Rock. We were so pissed. The trail was not maintained and it reminded us of walking in the woods at our hunting camp in Mississippi. Go somewhere else. We went to Tremont Tavern afterwards and ate an excellent burger and helped us forget about the awful experience at Snoopers Rock.

Blue Blazes is a primitive trail and 100% maintained by volunteers (and I am one). Yes, this year due to the weather there were areas that were overgrown. However, we are please to announce that it is now 100% passable and beautiful!

Things to understand about this trail:
1. It is a primitive, natural trail. This means after a rain, there could be some muddy spots. However, the building of foot bridges is underway by a youth group and is on-going. Much improved!
2. You'll be passing alongside bogs and marshes (hence mosquitoes; just use bug repellent).
3. The trail is a 1.5 mile loop that passes the river mid-way. One side of the trail is more open and the other more natural with some smaller trails.
4. This trail is easily walked and is good for dogs and children (yes, can be slippery in some spots after a rain).

Enjoy!
