I did a variation of this to Lawson Rock Overlook. It’s a great 10 mile out and back from Signal Mt HS. Well except for the downed trees I had to get through going up plateau to Prentice Cooper but that was 7/6/16.

Nearly drove to Snoopers Rock on the ATV trail next to the parking area - in an Audi SUV - no 4WD needed. The Cumberland Trail is next to the rock and you can go for miles and miles along the ridge line. Great hike, even if it’s a bit toasty in mid-July.

A little confusing to get to the trail head. But once you are there, the hike is well marked, and a great intermediate hike! The view from the rock is worth the 5 miles on a warm and clear day!

The falls are beautiful. The actual hike sucks. Its too expensive and too crowded. We were there Saturday, saw it, done, wont go back.

Great trail! Gorgeous day and although it got pretty warm, you didn’t notice in the shade of the trails. Sunset Rock was amazing! I could have sat there forever!

If you have weak legs, bad knees, hips or ankles, you might want to the whole loop. Perhaps to Sunset Rock and directly back. This has some strenuous spots on the loop especially Gum Springs and Rifle Pits. Gum Trail and Rife Pits had quite a bit of overgrowth making it narrow although the path was clear.

Suggestions: good comfortable hiking shoes, water and a walking stick or walking poles.

You walk through an underground cave. Nice sight seeing if you are someone who wants to see the views but isn’t very outdoorsy. It’s a guided tour. Very pretty underground waterfall but your time is limited due to being in a group with other tourists.

When I went there was a big line, but it is all worth it to see the place! Beautiful waterfall at the end that is definitely Instagram and Snapchat worthy!

Great trail as you go by the Indian Rockhouse and a lookout or two before you get to Snoopers rock...If you looking for a easy to moderate trail with a spectacular view at the end this one is a must.

Awesome view at the top.

Tons of shade! May get a little crowded in the summer because of the tourist location.

Great afternoon hike and what a view at Snooper’s Rock at the end! Brought my dog along and we had such a great time. Would recommend highly

The trail was easy to follow and offered get sights along the way. The bridge, creek, the hole in the ground, the camping site and then mushroom rock. It was a great hike with few hikers on the trail. We took our grand-dog and she loved the hike. We will do the trail to the point next time we visit. It was a great work out.

Easy to follow and several trails so you can mix it up.

Was a great hike lots of pretty views. I would rate the hike more on the strenuous side rather than moderate. The loop could use some more paint on the trees but pretty easy to navigate. We found one beautiful waterfall. Well worth the visit!

The waterfall and the story of how it was found is beautiful. Worth the trip!

Good for a quick trail run if you’re looking for a smooth surface, non technical, with some good ups and downs. No stream crossings. 4 mile loop makes for a nice run if you’re an out of town traveler, close to down town. Good trailhead with maps at various locations out on the trail.

first time on this trail. Very nice view of the valley and skyline. Trail is pretty easy. Started and finished at Sunset Rock. Access to SR is a bit more tough with lots of stone steps to be aware of footing.

Great trail with awesome scenes and many waterfalls.

NOT A MOUNTAIN BIKING TRAIL. I carried my bike on my back for 6 miles because I kept thinking that “I’m sure it will become a bike trail ahead” NOPE

Right IN Chattanooga, which is hard to find in many cities, this trail goes around the mountain and is very pretty. We did the full 9 miles but the best part was a very quick and steep hike up to Sunset Rock, directly up the hill with clear marked signs. If I did hikes multiple times, I would do it again for sure. Enjoy!

Moderately challenging uphills. When you make it to the suspension bridge, turn right and you’ve got roughly 20 more minute to mushroom rock. Wear stable shoes as there are some dicey descents, and being your walking sticks. Perfect way to get lost for a few hours. Bonus picnic area at the bridge.
