We do this with day packs as training for long hiking trips. Not necessarily a pretty hike - just keep on slogging!

Short 1 mile (total both loops) with views of Cherokee Lake and timber, 8 foot wide asphalt trail for easy walk/stroller/non-ADA wheelchair use. Wheelchair access is best from boat ramp parking.

Outer loop > .7 mile Inner loop > .3 mile

It's in my way to or from home. it's easy enough to stop by for some relaxation after a bad day. The Day Loop is my favorite. My goal is to backpack and stay over for an extended weekend. I was there earlier this week, lots of fungi also bullfrogs in "the pond". I have quirky ankles and find I can do this trail easily. Enough people around to feel safe, not so many people to feel crowded. Lots of places to swim as well.

good maintained trail if biking direction is critical the best route is to stay left you will go down the steepest hills and up the longer but not as steep the steep ones are very steep to try and ride up trail is part old fire road and some trail most is shaded but the power line hill is in the wide open has lake access about half way

The Anderson Road Fitness Trail is my go-to trail when I want to be close to nature but I don't want to drive too far outside of town. I highly recommend going for a stroll around sundown for the many fabulous lake views. On a quiet day, you may even see deer near the trail. It takes me roughly 30-40 minutes to complete the loop.

A good, moderately challenging trail. The last 2 miles or so before you reach the campground do need some maintenance as some of the markers are tough to see, obscured by several fallen trees.
But, I will avoid this trail on warm, sunny days. The party boats in one of the coves were blaring country songs so loud I lost my concentration several times. :(
At the first split, I took the right side (the forest side) of the day loop, then ran to the camp ground, and on the way back when I connected to the day loop again, took the lake side of the loop to get back to the parking lot.
My Nike app marked that as 13.2 miles.

Easy trip-good views of the water. A lot of downed trees everywhere!

Beautiful trail. Definitely a favorite. We always do the Day loop option which clocks per my watch at 3.8 miles. It is super dog friendly. There are some rocky spots that give the trail so much beauty. Only down fall is during the summer it does trace a popular party cove so you are going to get some noise and nonsense from that. Other then that we love it.

Beautiful moderate hike - even (especially?) in the rain.

Moderate hike, access to the lake at various points along the trail. Highly recommend.

Very nicely marked and kept trail. Nice lake views along the way and some interesting rock formations as well. Some nice elevation changes. Will definitely do this one again. GPS clocked 3.8 miles.

great trail. it has a 4 mile option and a 5 mile option. both are loops you can also combine them for about an 8 mile hike. BEAUTIFUL scenery well marked and good amount of traffic. I drive over an hr to get to this trail and it's worth every min.

Well marked!!
Most enjoyable morning hike!! Mostly easy with some uphill climbing!

Did this hike with my four year old, a seven year old and 8 month old. We enjoyed it. The scenery is beautiful, and the loop connects to other hikes in the park. Easy hike, didn't see anyone else the entire time.

Nice trail. Great for the dog. Not crowded.

Great short paved loop. Lots of lake views. Small parking lot but never full. Dog friendly.

Great trail for running if you're looking for something more mellow without steep gains. If you park at the Couchville Lake parking lot, you can make the run a good out-and-back for 15ish miles.

Did this today.. Wasn't bad, little wet and slippery on the rocks at times. would do again.

Fun place to take your dog for swimming since there aren’t a lot of places in Nashville - but be careful - my car got broken into. They won’t let you park in the “secured parking” at the recreation center with a pet so you just have to take your chances. It’s a shame because this is a beautiful place.

Beautiful hike with a “rest area” where you can swim!!! Love this hike!

Boring, too easy,

We took our dogs on this trail last week. Had a great time. Very clean. Seen other dog owners hiking with their dogs. Everyone was very polite and good dog handlers.

We took our kiddos 9 and 6 (1 yo in pack). If you park at the actual trailhead I would suggest going to the left at the 1st loop or just don’t do that part at all. It’s very steep with loose dirt and rocks without much reward. The other part of the loop is my fave part of the entire hike. So pretty and pretty easy going. Wish the lake was more visible during the 2nd loop but still a nice easy hike.

really beautiful trail. lots of wild flowers and lizards. I think it's used more for biking than hiking, but the bikers were very courteous. I believe they just added on to the trail and it isn't marked very well and all and can be pretty confusing after a certain point. Once that is sorted it will get a 5star from me for sure.

A nice quiet hike once you clear the cove where the boats hang out. Most of the trail is well covered with foilage and fairly clear until you get to the last mile or so where the trail goes through some taller grass. Tick repellent is definitely recommended.
