This was a great bike ride. Easy good trail. Well maintained. I had looked it up online and thought it was 8.8 one way but that is actually the total ride in and out. I was told they are working on it to make it longer. I would recommend a mt bike on this trail.

Nice hiking trail with some hills, part of it along the creek. We clocked it at 2.4 miles from the parking lot.

on Eureka Trail

A rails to trails project that is a simple walk/hike for all ages. Wide, gravel path will connect Englewood and Athens in the near future. The trail is about half way completed at this point.

good trail

awesome trail, great to get the heart rate up.

Great trail for exercise!! I'd pick this trail any day over a treadmill.

Nice park trail. Includes hiking around a pond, near a creek, and through nice trees.

Very good for a family Trail. I pull a 4 year old on a co-pilot bike and had no problem. Very easy, very smooth. Great trail for beginners.

I've walked this trail countless times; I like it because it gets me in the woods only a few minutes from the house. After climbing the first little bit and getting in the woods you can hear more birds and breeze than traffic. I just do the woods/steeper section down to the creek and then turn around; the flat section does nothing for me. Some wildflowers in the spring (trillium, may apples) and some nice hardwoods.

Eureka Trail is a Rails to Trail in Athens, TN. It is an easy multiuse trail. You will see folks walking, biking, running, and occasionally on horseback. There is ample parking at the trailhead; there are plans to extend the trail all the way from Athens to Englewood. It winds between fields and forest; it crosses two county roads; there is a short .6 loop on the trailhead end as well. There is presently some storm damage in the woods from a tornado in Nov/2016, but it does not affect the trail itself. A good walk, run, ride location close to town.

It was just like taking a walk in a little wooded area and then some of it is wide open. If you are looking for easy with kids or just a little exercise then this is great. Not what I call hiking though.

Lots of tree roots to avoid at the beginning. Really fun downhill and multiple trails

Moving here from CA im use to big mountains and long hikes. This is a pretty easy hike steep in the beginning then flat and down hill the rest of the way. It's conveniently placed in the center of Athens, so it's nice that we have something close.

Great day hike. This trail is over 3 miles and covers the outer area of the park. It has plenty of tree area and the trail is well maintained. The creek at the half way point is a nice place to stop for a quick picnic and the water is clean. The duck pond towards the end of the trail is a nice addition. Compared to most trails it is not a single destination trail but coupled with other things in this area it makes for a great day trip or weekend visit. The trail is mild and is good for all ages.

I've done a couple loops on a bike and its not bad/not great. If your local its great for a quick ride or a nice walk in the woods.

Nothing special in the views dept., but gets a good nature "fix" without the isolation of more remote wilderness. Kudos to a small town city park system for providing an actual non-paved trail experience.

Tough incline when you start the trail. Fun, good downhill. Would recommend it for beginners.

This trail is not well marked at all. It is covered with off shoots that are dead ends. I road it twice in a little under an hour searching most of the side trails each time. It wasn't a total let down though. Some sections are really fun. If you like roots and stutter bumps you will love this trail. There is a nice little drop at the end of a small downhill run. Unfortunately you will miss a fun section of the trail if you choose to make the small drop. Be aware that a barbed wire fence runs next to one corner. It is only a few feet away and it is a moderately fast section. I would only recommend it if you live locally. It's not really worth driving to.
