I’m on this trail a lot for running, walking and biking. It’s fantastic. I just wish the city would be more consistent with bathroom quality and placement, and that they’d open them earlier in the mornings for early-rising runners.

Beautiful park that is a sparkling gem in Sioux City. The trail is very easy and there are lots of places where kids can climb on rocks.

Awesome Trail. One of my favorite trails in the 15 states I have cycled in. Stunning parks, one after another on the southern portion. Since I don’t see anyway to post pictures, I will post them to my site, cyclingthe50.com.

Awesome bike trails. Continued improvements.

Fun little treasure tucked in the very NW corner of Iowa. Excluding some cool geologic formations, nothing in Gitchie will blow you away. Depending if the grounds have been maintained you might run into some graffiti.

One of few places you can combine trails and get a few miles in

Nice paved trail for walking with some gentle elevation change. For the more adventurous, there is a rocky area to climb on and get closer to the falls. There are some points of interest along the walking trail. Lots of green space too. Very busy on a nice Sunday afternoon in July.

One negative is the smell. I'm not sure if it's something that runs through the water or if it's just one of the industrial facilities near the park, but there is a pretty nasty smell in the area.

Very nice paved trail. Used for walking, running, cycling, NOT a horse trail. Goes around Sioux Falls. Parked at Fair Grounds, loop was a little over 20 miles.

it is a nice walk with waterfall backdrops throughout. Historical markers provide interesting information about the site.

Stunning! Lookout tower shows the beauty of this place. We were able to see a group of geese on the knoll. Lots of relaxing spots to just soak in the beauty.

Very nicely kept trail. Took a side trail of the main one and went through the more rough paths that were not as visible- it made for a nice challenge and more of a workout.

Great trail for long walks with great views. Downfall: majority of it is paved, makes it feel less outdoorsy.

Easy walk around the park.

A nice easy hike for the evening

Great trail overall. Oct 2015 the south part of the trail between Western Ave and Minn Ave is under construction, but the loop can still be completed by using Yankton Trail Parker soccer field parking lot just adjacent to the construction. Great that they are resurfacing and widening as that was the "weak link" in the loop trail. Overall a great experience for walkers, joggers, hikers, bikers and will be better in spring 2016 when the trail work is done.

This is a combination of 4 separate trails currently at Good Earth State Park. This newest park is evolving even as I write this. I began this route on the Bur Oak Trail, then connected with the Riparian Trail, then took the connector trail to River Lookout and completing it back at the parking lot. I wanted a longer hike and this was the best of all trails too. If you haven't been to this newest State Park check it out. I don't think you'll be disappointed. The vision for this cultural and historical area is grand. I can't wait to watch it unfold. @backpackerneil

on Bur Oak Trail

Bur Oak Trail begins near where the new visitor center for Good Earth State park is being built not far from the gravel parking lot. It goes in a Northerly direction around an old farmstead with a barn and silo. It's a 2 wheeled dirt road for a short distance and then veers to the right where it is a mowed grass path that stays near the trees. Then it descends to the river bottom through a dense oak stand and goes past a grave marker for the first child to have died in Lincoln County. The loop begins as you reach the river bottom where it opens up to prairie grass. The loop gives some views of the Big Sioux River then steadily climbs back up to finish the loop and then back to the trail head in more of a lollipop trail style. At 2.5 miles it's a nice distance for a hike in under an hour yet not too short. Look for the 3 oaks growing in a row along the path. Good path to view wildlife late evening or early morning. @backpackerneil

This spur trail begins at Sertoma park and goes along the West side of the Big Sioux River and then joins Skunk Creek where it enters the big Sioux. At a good pace you can do this in 40 minutes out and back.
