Absolutely the best trail system in the world.

Gorgeous scenery!

The trail was well maintained and not too busy. Make sure you read the signs when you get off the main road and it’s easy to find. Go off the beaten path and follow the crest of the mountain for some spectacular views.

Beautiful hike! Water was rushing and high due to recent rain. Bridges were a bit intimidating for us old folks so we scooted across....where there’s a will there’s a way!

My husband, 8 year old son and our 4 month old Great Dane hiked this today and it was amazing!!!! The light rain made everything more fun! A definite must on any Black Hills hike!!

scenery was amazing - creek is very full and running fast
we just did the easy hike to dam and back and enjoyed it thoroughly

gorgeous hike! ran into a herd of cattle crossing the river, which was fun to watch.

Beautiful hike. partial shade, well marked.

great trail a bit washed out due to rain.. would consider more moderate than easy

Urban hike that is part 300+ acre trail system with many offshoot trails from the trail shown here. Nice views of the Black Hills/Black Elk Peak in one direction, prairie in the other and Rapid City below. Inside city limits so you have traffic noise you won’t find on our other Black Hills trail, but is super convenient for locals and visitors spending a day in RC. A good deal of mountain bike traffic but I have always found these bikers courteous to hikers sharing the trail system.

By far, one of the most spectacular lookouts I've seen around, but unfortunately people ruin it. It's very close to town, so I've seen shady characters every time I've been. Tons of graffiti, trash, blatant drug use, and disrespectful people. I'd recommend going early morning or during school/work hours to avoid the riff raff.

All foot bridges are repaired very cool hike young kids can fair the trail well!

Had a great hike with my son! Easy hike! Took only one GSD with us this time... Made it easier for my son... Beautiful weather in the low 60’s... Couldn’t ask for better conditions... 2.8 miles this time... Really enjoying hiking... Wish I had started this years ago... We’re doing it now so I guess that’s what matters the most...

Awesome time... Had our GSD’s with us... I think they had more fun than we did! :)

Absolutely amazing. You’ll see the entire black hills in a few days.

Great views. Easy and short hike. Hiking down to Rapid Creek and back up a little more challenging, but not to hard. At the top, go to the south and follow deer trails down to the creek.

This is a cool trail. Just FYI it's very easy to get turned around when you go underneath the tunnel, we didn't even pass the exit again on the way back, so thank goodness for gps! Also the 2 bridges are out on the trail, but if you are semi coordinated, you can get across on rocks and branches that have been thrown in the water, just barely getting your shoes wet.

beautiful, peaceful, wooded hike by lake. some hills. I'd say not quite easy.

Awesome views!

Beautiful scenery! I didn't give it a five only because it's fairly high traffic and all the boats on the lake make it not very secluded.

Very short trail but the view is really good.

Little steep for about a half mile once you leave Centennial Trail on to #40 so I would give it between easy to moderate. Nice open meadow walk for the last mile into Silver City. Close to paved roads so around Rally time can't escape cycle noise.

Great trail, mostly shaded with scenic views every step of the way.
