Short but lovely.

Easy trail with beautiful views, especially in the evening.

Nice level hike on the prairie (once the ascent up Saddle Pass is completed) with great views of the Badlands

Short but challenging trail, especially when muddy, as it had rained the day before. Great view at the top and good way to access Medicine Root Trail.

Easy paved trail with views of Rushmore, gets you away from the crowds

Good trail to get a taste of Custer State Park

Good trail to get the blood flowing after being in the camper all night. Hiked it a couple of times as it was right next to our campsite.

This easy loop provides great views of the Black Hills to the west and the plains to the east. It was a clear day and we could even see the western tip of the Badlands.

I definitely didn’t know what to expect after reading numerous reviews... but I loved it! I wouldn’t consider myself super in shape and it took me 2 hours and 45 minutes and a solid 30 minutes of that was time stopping to take photos, collect rocks, etc. I took 20 oz. of water and some jerky for some refueling along the way (because it was HOT!) I didn’t expect as much roadside noise as there was at the mid-way point but it wasn’t horrible. I started clockwise simply because I’d rather climb huge rocks at the end than jump down them at the beginning.

good but lots of poison ivy in places. we went clockwise which is moderate up hill at first. the rock lookout was very scenic.

Did the clockwise so hardest first. then sun behind us as we came down. nice hike.

I did this Hike With My 5Year old..

Hiked this with my 70+ years old parents and they had no trouble. Took about 75 minutes. Absolutely great hike and would recommend. I don't think it matters much which way you take the loop as there are ups and downs both ways.

Nice easy hike. About 2 miles total from Spearfish Canyon Lodge. We’ve hiked and snowshoed. A great hike before breakfast. We had fresh powder one morning and were the first one out on the trail. The falls were amazing to see with the ice and snow covering. Nice views from above the falls any time of year.

Perfect hike for the first day of fall at Newton Hills. The trails are well kept. Considering how much rain came down just a few days before there was only a couple muddy spots. So that was nice.
The trail heads could be a little better marked. Especially if people haven’t been there before. We were glad we had the All Trails App so we were more sure of where we were at.

Went up trail 9, came down trail 4. It was a challenging hike, but totally worth the beautiful views! Not for beginners. It’s a hike up trail 9 but a nature walk down trail 4. Enjoy!

Great trail with some awesome views of the river. It can get difficult at times with inclines and declines. C route is the longest but probably has the best views of the river. Highly recommend this trail if your in Yankton looking for a moderately challenging trail with sights.

Awesome, tough hike. Not for beginners. Long and steep, but totally worth the work. The views are out of this world!

Great views! We did the loop from Trail 4 and back on and did the Little Devil's Tower as well. A little over 9 miles.

Nothing special.

Awesome Hike on a beautiful day.
Went up on trail 9 and came back in trial 4.

Fun roaming around like on another planet...

Amazing view and love the ladder....❤

Blackberry Trail is well maintained and an easy hike. The trailhead is across the hard road to the Washington side of Mt Rushmore parking lot. Doubles as a horse trail so you have to dodge horse dung. Nice elevation change and a nice views. A small creek in play at the end of the trail connecting to Centennial.

I'm giving this a "5" because of the sacredness of the canyon. It's unmistakable. Take it in. Really easy.

Very short easy hike. Definitely on the easy side of "moderate."

Great hike, beautiful views. It took us a full 3 hours. We are "moderate" trail hikers, and on another website, this trail was rated "moderate." Most of it is! We went clockwise. The bouldering at the end, after a full hike, and with an unpredictable right knee, busted me. It was the most physically strenuous "hiking" I've ever done. I don't think I'd do this again. The road noise mid-point was somewhat distracting.

A semi-easy hike with foot bridges across a stream. Ended at the lake with a playground. We carried out toddler in a backpack no problem.
