One of my favorite places to run/walk. Biking is good here too, but I would suggest doing that at off peak times because parts can be fairly busy. Very sunny in the morning. More shaded from about 2p on. If there has been a lot of rain, check the Cayce City website for closures because some sections flood. The wood bridge sections can also be slippery after rain. But overall, this path is awesome. Bathrooms and water fountains can be found at the Gervais Street Bridge area and the main Cayce entrance. Plenty of benches for scenic breaks.

This is a great, family friendly trail. It has lots of water views and a wonderful paved surface that is stroller and wheelchair friendly. However it is long enough to be a challenge.

Part of Cayce Riverwalk - The Timmerman Trail is the South End of Cayce River and is mainly a loop around Congaree Creek with connection to the SCANA Parking and the Fort Congaree Entrance at the Cayce Tennis Courts. It's a paved walkway great for runners, walkers, Cyclists, and nature lovers. It's great for Wildflowers and Butterflies on Old State Road. It connects to Cayce Riverwalk on the east end for a longer hike.

Nice walking trail. Paved trail. Would go again.

This is a beautiful trail!! Nice scenery with the water right beside the trail !

How do we rename this trail on this app? It’s the Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve, not the guinyard quarry loop, though the quarry has history there.

Stunning historic bridge and rushing water. Plenty of foot traffic and some police presence when we went. Truly gorgeous walk.

Nice walk.

Fun to walk, the terrain changes throughout in a fun way that keep trail from getting boring. Bug spray is a must because area is full of swampy/water areas.

Loved the hike. Beautiful scenery.

Beautiful! Water on both sides and interesting history.

Our 1st time going this weekend and it was awesome. We didnt see any alligators as we hoped too. We were also unable to complete the whole loop and had to turn around. The half loop was also unable to be completed and landed us turning around once again due to flooding. We will be going back when its had time to dry up some.

ALLIGATORS EVERYWHERE dont bring small dogs. DEF USE A LEASH

The trail is very narrow in places and many areas were flooded. After marker 10 it is not well maintained in some areas. If you stop to look around the bugs take advantage to try to devour you. I had to wade thru a flooded section that was mid thigh deep which was pretty unnerving considering all of the alligator signs that are posted. Maybe I'll go back during a drought.

Great if you have no sense of smell! Seriously, they are venting raw sewage around every turn.

Great scenery with a little bit of history. The pavement is well taken care of.

Walked the big loop(3.5 Miles) and enjoyed the sights. Surprisingly, for a swamp, there weren’t many mosquitoes. We used bug spray, but I only had about 4 bits at the end of 2 hours! It was dry when we were there this past weekend 6-29, but can imagine it can become impossible to finish the loop when wet.

First trail run in South Carolina, I enjoyed the winding trail and at times varying terrain. The only "difficult" part in my opinion was the plethora of tree roots in one section. I say that only because I needed to slow down so I wouldn't plant the wrong foot. If you have bad ankles I would not suggest running here without ankle braces. Otherwise a fun little meditative trail.

old hand dug barrow pits make for an interesting landscape. A train would take the clay to the brick kiln ovens in Cayce.
