Nice easy wide trail at the beginning connects and is crossed by many other trails in the park. The whippoorwill and cowasee run through it. It is well marked and easy. There is also an new or unlisted trail the green swamp fox 2.9 miles which was nice shaded trail

The trail is closed but can still be easily completed just one tree down you must go over, a couple muddy spots and starting to become overgrown but not enough yet to be a issue. Nice hike only problem that gets us every time is horse flys following you around and try to keep landing on you.

Love the elevation throughout the trails at Poinsett state park. An awesome selection of activities as well.

Nice park, be cautious driving in the road is full of large pot holes. The trails are nice and marked fairly well. Just enough incline and ruggedness to rate it moderate but plenty of flat stretches to get a little running in.

Great park but this trail is currently closed due to flooding. The other trails are nice though.

Did this trail again this spring. Very different experience compared to last October. Delightful again. Love the Spanish moss and dark swampy water. Definitely a hidden gem.

Awesome trail, with tree coverage the trail was shaded. Will definitely do this trail in the near future!!!

This trail includes sections of the Coquina, Hilltop, Laurel, as well as the named Knot and Splice Trails. Hiked it during the winter in February; might be a better spring hike when everything is in bloom.

A very pleasant surprise. My husband and I along with 3 dogs stopped here en route to Folly Beach. We had a nice picnic and then hiked this trail along with the Knot trails. Very lovely with enough to qualify as a reasonable work out. Recommend the detour!

My favorite at Poinsett. Watch out for snakes.

We went in the winter and it was quite enjoyable. Challenging parts all around this State Park. I'm sure when the trees and flowers are in bloom it's spectacular.

Hiked multiple portions of the trail system in this beautiful state park. Trails in good to excellent condition. Scenic, challenging in places, fun, and quiet. Dog friendly as well. Nice historic structures and interesting biotic diversity. Trails well marked with color blazes. Enjoy.

did the 1.5m yellow trail the incline was un expected but the decline was welcomed, had our toddler along so thats all we were comfortable with doing that day, taking the family and relatives when they come down on vacation in june up there to camp and hopefully to ALL the trails, we're all pretty educated hiking enthusiasts.

I hated the red loop. Deep sand, spiderwebs, and boring.

K3 is just okay.

These trails are amazing! There are three different loops and although we may be in the low country, these trails will defiantly give you a good work out! They are kept up pretty well and the park provides maps and markers along the way. Its about 15mins away from Shaw AFB and I go there pretty often!

Great trail, few hills but not too flat. One of the best maintained trails in the midlands. This is really 10 miles not 7.5 as listed. Mostly singletrack with some nice tight twists and turns. Many parts are as fast as you can pedal.

I hiked the Wateree Passage portion of the Palmetto Trail after it was being recommended by the Park Ranger there. It starts in Poinsett State park and treks 7 miles until the trail ends at the Wateree River. The trail does continue, but the rainy season has flooded the trail. The trail is well worn and easy to follow. Mostly flat except a few places where there is some uphill/downhill. There are 10 bridges along this route where you can fish or bird watch. The land is mostly swampy so use bug repellent, lots of it! Also, even though it's still spring here, the temperatures reached the high 80 degrees F, so water and sun block are a must. Lots of wild life, including salamanders, frogs, and of course, alligators. If your looking to get out on the weekend for a quick hike this is worth checking out. I stayed at the campground in Poinsett State park, so if you want to know about the ground, let me know.
