spectacular. stunning. fearful. extremely difficult. 12 miles including the connectors. allow 7 hours. easy to get lost or take a tumble. i did both.loved it. quite a challenge.

Very quiet and peaceful area just outside of bustling Charleston, SC. This area is a protected wildlife management area and is controlled by S.C. Dept of Natural Resources. Trails are well marked and maintained. Other than the occasional whistle blow from a nearby train or the rumbling jets from an airplane (there's an airport about 15-20 miles away), this area is relaxing and easy to walk. To the lady who said "Would of given a 5 star rating if the boardwalk was open"....it's a protected area that allows the threatened wood stork a place to nest. These birds are highly sensitive to any human presence which is why the boardwalk is closed from Feb-Sept. They literally have a million signs at the beginning of the trail and at the entrance to the boardwalk stating this. Read them next time.

Climbed Table Rock 3/16. Good and strenuous climb. Nice weather day

Trail is well marked, easy to follow and well maintained. The views are amazing, and plenty of places to stop and enjoy the views.

Fun trail! Beautiful lake! I will be making this a regular trail running stop!

You walk on a paved road next to what looks like a sewage or drainage canal. Lots of road noise with busy roads along the trail. If you walk sideways down the trail and try to ignore all the roads to one side you can possibly fake yourself out that you are in nature.

The reward at the end is definitely worth the hike! My children (ages 6-13) and I completed this in November. I would give this a "moderate" instead of difficult rating for anyone who hikes even as little as bi-monthly.

A great place to ride...when you come out of the woods, turn around and go the opposite way, its a whole different trail! Great workout on your mountain bike, and there is another trail on the bluff that runs along two knotch road. The bigger the tires the better as there is a lot of sand that is deep in some places. Add the 3 mile double track as a warm up and cool down and you can easily ride 12 plus miles. When you cant ride at Harbison due to rain...go check out Sesqui!

Was pretty cold today but we saw a few turtles and birds. Boardwalk the entire way was kinda cool. Really great wetland habitat gotta come back on a warm day.

Great trails for mountain biking, maybe not so much for hiking. Tons of windy single-track makes this super fun to ride. There’s a pump track and a built up area called “the ridge” which is pretty fun. It’s mostly flat but the windy trail makes it more fun and challenging.

Very hard not an easy trek for beginners

Great relaxing trails through the swamps of South Carolina. A great oasis of beauty in the area

Excellent place to see the beauty of the Lowcountry

Pretty trail. Easy to follow and very well marked. Wish we could see the bottom of the waterfall. Definitely pretty challenging once you are done descending.

The rock ledge overlooking the lake offers some really nice views.

Strenuous but totally worth it. The falls are beautiful

Uphill battle to reach the falls but they are amazing and well worth the trip! plus it's all downhill from there.

Hermit thrush, black & white warbler, downy woodpecker, chickadees, robins, and heard parulas ..... and gators!

Very nice hike. Beautiful falls.

a little hard to find the trailhead. unless you have a good 4x4 don't try to drive down the dirt road, just walk it to be safe. Really fun waterfall with great swimming hole in the summer! Lots of fun!

I fly fished the chatooga. started at burells ford. beautiful trail and so very easy. Great Day!

Not as hard as you might think. Pick a nice clear day to enjoy the views. Great trail.

Beautiful waterfall! There are a few places that you have to cross the creek on rocks. Not a huge deal but something that would be better in warm weather. The falls were absolutely beautiful. The trail was clean and marked. We will definitely be headed to see them in the summer!

Nice little trail that's close to home. There is a neat swampy area with lots of diff bird species.

Great hike. Dogs and humans enjoyed it very much!

Trail is very well maintained! For being right outside of Charleston, it’s perfect to get away for the day and go hiking. The trail is fairly easy to walk - some roots and soft marsh spots. Also, love that it’s dog friendly!! We took our two dogs and had a blast. There were quite a bit of people out walking with their dogs and riding bikes, so it gets some traffic on the weekends. Definitely a hidden gem!

Evil and mean on the knees! Can’t wait to do it again
