Surprising amount of wildlife for the amount of traffic on this one. Extremely accessible stroll around a human made wetland, but I can imagine there are at least a few gators waiting for warmer months, careless dogwalkers, and stray cats. Watch out!

incomplete. damage to northern portion. southern portions good for walking, running, and walking dogs. northern portion still a bit sketch.

Nice loop trail with a portion of it providing lake views. Well maintained and partially paved. Very well marked. Moderately trafficked for a winter hike. Great option considering it’s in the middle of the capitol city.

Paved trail and great views. Worth doing this walk if you’re wanting inclines and declines

Nice, flat loop around Sesquicentennial Lake. Well-marked with white plastic diamonds bearing black arrows. Very popular with casual hikers and dog-walkers. Lake only in view for about 1/4 of the loop. Not a bad trail considering the lack of hiking options around Columbia.

Beautiful and tranquil walk. Very easy. Stroller accessible. Many families with dogs, strollers, children on bikes. Wonderful place to spend an afternoon.

easy trail around the lake. only a few other walkers with dogs. Also good for trail running.

enjoyable walk on a paved trail with historical plaques with information along the trail

Have completed this a few times walking and running. Great views of downtown Charleston and the harbour. I would suggest doing this for the Cooper River Bridge Run. Tons of people, but fun for sure!!

I use this trail almost daily for running. It’s always a beautiful view, even on crap days.

Nice stroll. Easy paths and well marked trail. about 1/4 mile of lake view. Otherwise it's mostly forest.

Awesome scenery and great access points to Saluda River for flyfishing!

I do the bridge quite often. It is exercise with a view!

Nice bike ride. A few people out for afternoon jogs and walks. Saw some turtles in the river, but no gators in the canal this time. I had a little difficulty finding the north trailhead, but saw the sign and found it.

Great trail for riding but the parking areas are not easy to find. The train depot parking lot is easier to find since the depot is shown on Google maps. Turn right at the depot parking lot and cross the trail to get to a better parking area without potholes. I think one of the better parking area is at the Broome Lane and Anders Lane intersection. It’s not as busy and it has a porte potty that’s kept very clean. The depot parking area has a bicycle repair station with tools, air pump and a work station to hold your bike elevated so you don’t have to squat to work on it. Overall this is a nice paved trail.

Beautiful! Water on both sides and interesting history.

Great history. Well-kept paved trail.

nice flat path I. and out slow pace took 1 1/2 hours

great way to get some fresh air.

My wife and I are from out of town and needed a trail to get some miles logged. This was a great stop. This is an easy paved trail that is well marked with a canopy. We did the 4.5 mile loop and it gives views and access to the river.

Awesome paved trail for the kidos, that are still on training wheels! Lots of benches along the trail to stop and check out the river. Multiple bathroom facilities, splash pad and park. Would be a good venue for a kids birthday party with the grill and table set ups.

I am fortunate that I live close enough to this trail to walk it on a regular basis. Don't miss the rose garden near the student center or the koi pond near the amphitheater.

This is a very easy trail. Good for families

Great paved walking or biking trail.

Great view of the city and the only place around to do some climbing for cyclists.
