Great trail with climbs and descents that can be challenging.

Great little garden maze for an easy run with some elevation.

Great for my short runs. Flat, fast and mostly shaded.

If you like a straightforward hike with little distractions this is for you. It was very rainy and the trail stayed fairly dry and was easy to follow. Other than a quick lake view and a quick stream view - not much to see.

We drove over here from Rock Hill for a change of scenery. It was an unusually cool day for July with low humidity. The hike was very nice even without the break in weather. Note that this is Palmetto Trail until you take a hard right onto the Lake Johnson Fairforest Creek Connector Trail (there is a signage and a picnic table there). We took that trail down to the creek where there was a beautiful picnic spot. We turned around there. It was 6+ miles. All in it took us 3.5 hours. A lovely day.

We just 3 miles into the trail and back. Nice trail. Well marked. We were pleasantly surprised with a picnic table at 2.9 Miles in.

Croft state park is a really nice place for last minute hiking trips. Foster Mill Loop is good for trail runners it's rated as moderate but I think it should be dragged down to easy. No good views at all until you get to the side of the lake early in the morning at sunrise or late afternoon at sunset.

It was a very difficult trail for running. There are roots, Stones and horse apples :-) on the trail. I´ve seen some roe and deers. This trail is nothing for People without Training/ practise. It was very funny to run this trail.

I'm starting "my peak challange, " and this was a very baseline start. really enjoyed it. The directions on this app are off... they lead to an adjacent neighborhood, so double check.

This is a beautiful respite just to get away from the busyness of life. I am impressed with the variety of plants. There were lots of people there which actually added to the experience. The gardens are wheelchair accessible.

Nice single track. Great downhills and some tough climbs. Reminded me a little of Tsali. Can't wait to go back.

The Nature Trail is a lovely, easy 1.5 mile loop with a lot of placards describing different trees, which is interesting. You access it by walking farther up a road that goes off the main parking lot, where horse shows are held. Just stroll up about a tenth of a mile, or so, to trailhead on right.

I have enjoyed hiking here a number of times, but today I tried it on my mountain bike (after a long hiatus). This trail was a lot of fun on a bike, and it is great for a wide range of skill levels. It is technical enough to keep it interesting, but there's nothing too scary. A great choice for the casual rider, I think.

This is a nice park to explore when you don't have time to make it up to the mountains. You can get a good workout in and the lake is very pretty. There are a lot of horses on the trails which means you need to constantly be on the look out for manure.

Rolling pine hills, some creek and lake views, lot of horse traffic. Did a 9,5 mile loop

This is a wonderful place for an afternoon in a beautifully maintained garden and trail just outside downtown Spartanburg.

Croft State park trail is a good trail in the foothills near Spartanburg. Hikers, bikers, and horses can be there with some restrictions. They have horse shows every third Saturday and there are facilities for horses. There are streams to get wet in and interesting landscapes. The trail tends to wide and may be better for bikers. It goes between two lakes with muddy bottoms that are not good for swimming. I saw a couple of canoers there. The lake is a nice scenic view. I saw no one on this moderately strenuous trail. The trail is well marked in several places. I got off on an unmarked trail by accident but managed to get back on the main trail and go in the right direction by looking at the trail map and taking note of the radio tower. There are a lot of cobwebs on the trail and I maneuvered carefully around a black snake. There is a restroom with flushing towels and a shower. I used regular shoes to hike it, but hiking shoes are recommended.
