The rates have increased since the original posting shows $5 per adult. It is now $10 per adult.

Actually it's a .75 mile loop walking trail and a swamp boardwalk. Well kept, small State Park. No standout views, but a nice place to walk, learn about the Carolina Bays, and maybe see an alligator.

Easy walk, interesting variety of trees, and a beach when you emerge from the woods.

I hiked this trail at the beginning of October 2017. BE AWARE THAT THE BRIDGE IS CLOSED TO ALL FOOT AND BIKE TRAFFIC!. Very disappointed that this isn't listed, as it caused us to park in town, walk to the end of the bridge and back, then drive across the lake and park on the side of the road on the north side of the lake. We only hiked the first "12" miles of the trail before turning around- almost the entire trail is on roads, both blacktop and gravel. only about 1/2 mile of this portion, from the bridge to the junction with old river road is in the woods, and this comes out in the back yard of a campground with permanent campers. kind of uncomfortable. Will not hike this trail again, but I do recommend a side trip down to the state park and Fort Watson.

Nice park, but not worth $5 a person.

Extremely short run but if you keep going along the road there are some mean hills. Don't underestimate the heat and humidity during the summer. I made that mistake yesterday...

Enjoyed our walk. We took the red and orange trail to lengthen our walk. Trail was well maintained and level. Great place for a cool walk after spending time on the beach. Took the boardwalk along the beach as well. Beautiful!

Nice paved, safe, and almost a 4 mile jog but can get boring. No pets allowed and no bikes.

Nice trail for beginners. Straight shot. Not great for bikers. A lot of road noise. Pretty scenery!!! Will definitely do it again.

Did this as part of a 100 mile section hike of the Palmetto Trail. This was pretty much all road walking with the vast majority of it being dirt roads. There was a long portion (couple of miles at least) of pavement walking. The part through the farmers field was completely overgrown and almost impassible (see pictures). If coming from the sea (like I did) stay to the right with the trees and when they end just push straight forward.

Pros: Lake and city skyline views. Stunning sunsets.
Cons: Heavy loud highway noise on full route. Possible risk of being hit by road debris. No shade or benches. Limited parking.

Flat but pretty walk. All concrete footpath. Enjoyed sunrise but would imagine sunset is better.

A wonderful place for running, walking, or cycling. Very popular around town, but seldom crowded. Check it out on a pleasant sunny day or at sunset.
