The primary description and map recording for this trail is inaccurate as of 04/12/18. I don't know if it's just outdated and maybe the trail has changed, but it's longer than .6 miles for starters. There is not a map at the trailhead either. I wasn't able to finish it at the time and had to backtrack when I noticed I was way off of the map and wasn't sure where it was going and time constraints. Other than that, it's a decent trail.

Very nice hike. Look forward to seeing it in the late spring.

I hiked this trail at the beginning of October 2017. BE AWARE THAT THE BRIDGE IS CLOSED TO ALL FOOT AND BIKE TRAFFIC!. Very disappointed that this isn't listed, as it caused us to park in town, walk to the end of the bridge and back, then drive across the lake and park on the side of the road on the north side of the lake. We only hiked the first "12" miles of the trail before turning around- almost the entire trail is on roads, both blacktop and gravel. only about 1/2 mile of this portion, from the bridge to the junction with old river road is in the woods, and this comes out in the back yard of a campground with permanent campers. kind of uncomfortable. Will not hike this trail again, but I do recommend a side trip down to the state park and Fort Watson.

nice simple trail ideal for bringing your kids. one small bridge to cross and that's about it. not much of a scenic route but a nice near mile walk for exercise.

We took our bikes on this trail. The kids had to hope off bikes a couple times due to sharp turns and elevation changes. Geocache is also present on this trail.
