This trail seems closed. No parking signs everywhere near the trailhead and no trespassing signs.

It would be a great place to hike if the trails were better marked as in Issaqueena. Twice I had to pick up my little dog because of big dogs not on a lease trying to attack my little dog! We encountered 6 big dogs and none were on a lease.

Very enjoyable easy walk with several lake stop opportunities. Will do this again in early winter when the leaves are off the trees and the lake views are more expansive.

this trail begins and ends with a flat road. nice warm up and cool down. the middle section is traditional up and down trail. very enjoyable and a good trail for someone looking for a long easy trail.

There are parts of the trail where sand is too deep in my opinion which can make it hard to walk.

Nice little trail nice stops at the lake. My little dog and I enjoyed this and cut back up the trail so we did complet the full thing but I like having this option with him only being 5lbs. Will definitely be back maybe do a few round.

nice walk in the woods to break in the new hiking boots. no troubles following the path.

Awesome trail with beautiful lake views, especially in the early evening hours. Came here to mountain bike for the first time in years and it was manageable but still a little tricky in spots. There are a few intersections where the trail is not marked so make sure to pay attention to which way you should be going.

I did this and a couple of offshoots...ok t got lost and turned around.

It's a nice trail that was a bunch of fun, though points weren't marked as well as they could be. Also, watch out for horse poop. Oh, and I ran into two huge coyotes on the trail, so keep your dogs on leash!

Perfect beginner mountain bike ride for my wife to join me. Beautiful lake views and spots to stop and hang the hammock.

Park along the side of the road. Easy trail. They are doing a lot of logging but there are no signs that say no trespassing . So enter as your own risk. Nice swimming hole for sure.

Went on this trail with my 2 dogs. Was a nice trail, but it wasn’t marked well. None of the intersections I came to gave directions as to which way to go. After hiking for a couple of hours and getting lost while trying to find the correct path, I ended up at a run down trail head with a broken up piece of wood, where the information section was supposed to be. Had to have a friend pick me up on the side of the road and take me and my dogs back to my car. Needs to be marked better.

Beautiful section with long pine views overlooking lake

great hike that leads into a fun ledge to get into the water. I've hiked this trail many times, my only complaint is that the police have come in a few times to monitor the area. One tine they threatened to tow everyone's cars that were parked by the road. I'd recommend this trail, but be wary of cops.

Awesome short trail! I did not notice any litter. Great spot for swimming, cliff diving, and camping.

Love these trails! One of my favorite places to ride.

Heavy horse traffic on the trail and it isn't marked very well. It does have a nice stretch by the water, though, and overall it was a nice stroll through the woods.

Spring flowers. Lot's of Eastern Redbud, some azalea or rhododendrons almost ready to bloom. Clear, blue sky. Some disconcerting shotgun sounds from nearby range.

It was nice trail along side Lake Hartwell. There was a good amount of horse poop.

This is a bunch of trails starting at Brown Place Altamont. Mainly old roads...probably logging roads. Saw maple "flowers", a few baby trees sprouting, and mosquitoes..

This was a very nice trail that doesn’t have a lot of elevation changes. We did this trail with a 12, 11 and 9 year old and they were able to handle it very easily. It had been raining for the last few days so the trail was very muddy. That combined with the horses that had very obviously been on the trail earlier in the morning made for a messy hike. We will definitely revisit this trail when the weather is better.

First part was along a somewhat busy road, and there was horse poop every 20 feet. The large portion along the lake was nice though

Could have enjoyed the trail significantly more if I wasn't constantly looking at the ground to avoid horse poop. Along with that, there was a guy constantly shooting a gun near by which significantly retracted from the serenity of the trail. There is a part that lets you go onto the beach at the lake, but other than that its a rather boring trail.

This was a great trail! I took a star off for horse poop. Two moms with kids aged 13, 12, and 9. Nice views of lake. We stepped off trail to throw rocks in the water. Good variety in elevation but nothing strenuous. There were some muddy spots and one creek crossing but nothing that was unavoidable. We did a shortened version of the top loop. It came out to 2.7 miles. For this abbreviated version, I would classify it as easy. I would recommend AllTrails split these two loops apart to make it more accessible to people who aren't looking for a long hike. The lower loop is probably 5 miles. I'll have to try that one another time.

Fants Grove is a well marked trail system and trail maps are available at the parking areas. While rated intermediate, its more easy than intermediate and you can maintain speed (visibility is good except in a few places where the undergrowth is trying to choke the trail). There are some good climbs but I never had to go to up my granny gear. Trails are well maintained and flow and makes for great cross country mountain biking. I rode on Thursday evening and was by myself and only came across one hiker but there were signs of heavy horse usage - you have to watch out for the trail muffins. LOL!

Only went on first loop. Nice moderate trail. There was no one the whole trail. No trash- thank you folks. Saw only one snake , no worries a nice black snake, he’s a good guy. First time using app. I just need to figure out a few things as far as keeping my phone charged first. Enjoyed it.
