Very easy flat trail. Half of it is very nicely paved and the other half is a natural surface that is still easy to walk. Great place for walking the dog. Outer loop around the main park is popular with bicycle riders.

The boardwalk was great. Enjoyed the walk around and it was ideal for the kids (5, 2) to walk around. Other than a few spots most of the ground was dry with minimal standing water.

Great paved loop, some uphill some downhill. Great spots for picnics.

one of my favorite places in the park to hike. I love to go down to the SandBar and just hang out for the day.

Hiked this past weekend. Awesome trail. Even though the only views are of trees, rocks, and creeks, the trail is very challenging simply for the mileage. It is not a technically challenging trail in my opinion minus a couple of tricky creek crossings. Definitely recommend a good pair of lightweight waterproof boots!

Beautiful, 100% paved, and well kept! My kids don’t like hiking but they had fun on this trail. Definitely recommend!

it was a very easy walk around with a bit of flooding when we went. Plenty of fish, birds, and reptiles to see! Enjoyable with some beautiful swampland to see.

Nice walk through an impressive cypress grove. No shortage of birds and turtles. The boardwalk itself is in sorta rough shape.

Terrific loop trail that offers up all the best that congaree has to offer. The path is well marked and easy to follow as it is well worn in. As others have said there are several large downed trees but there are easy to follow side paths around all of them. If it's been raining and the water level is up; expect a few large puddles in the trail. But these can be negotiated easily enough. I enjoy hiking this trail for the peaceful serenity it provides.

This is a small loop on the north end of the park. Trail is not the easiest to see but definitely the go-to trail for those looking for something easy.

Love this trail for a quick walk in the wilderness. This is a must see for people visiting the area. Mosquitos were not too bad big bug spray is a must. Saw a few turtles, snakes, and deer on todays trip.

This trail has been on my list for a long time. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed. Full disclosure I should know better than to expect a relaxing hike in a swamp in July. The mosquitos actually weren’t too bad unless you stopped walking then it was all out warfare. The trail itself was very hard to follow in a few areas due to detours from downed trees. Saw some wildlife during this trip snakes, hogs, lots of spiders.

Great trail that begins on a boardwalk, transitions to trail then back to boardwalk. A small overlook of the lake is included as well and is a nice treat. The trail is well kept but still nature focused. The sights on the trail vary so you are seeing new things. The bugs are horrible of course, we wore 25% deet bug spray and didn't get bit at all. The trail was muddy even though it hadn't rained for a week, though that wasn't so much a bother. My wife and I enjoyed the trail greatly and would highly recommend it!

Very interesting and informative!

Nice boardwalk trail. The loop to Weston Lake was partially flooded and had some downed trees from wind damage. The old growth trees are awesome.

The trails were well marked. The terrain is fairly constant up until the 9 mile then it begins to noticeably become steeper. There are plenty of streams around the trails. There was a very beautiful stream crossing between the 7th and 8th mile. There were several downed trees but none of them were difficult to get around. I applied some insect and tick repellent but still managed to pick up several ticks along the way, so stop periodically and check yourself. It took me over 9 hours to make the trip

I was not as big of a fan of this one.. its too flat I like poinsett state park

A decent hike. Not the easiest between miles 10-11 with several downed trees; but for the most part well marked, great water sources. Also, reservations for over night camping are required.

Mostly flooded when I went. Boardwalk and camping area were clear. Beautifully maintained.

nice easy trail with plenty of great scenery

Great hike for a beginner. I had some extra time so I hiked to the edge of the Military park and then back to the summit of Browns Mountain. Great workout. A ShoutOut to the staff at the visitors center. They are extremely helpful and pleasant and answered all my questions.

easy trail, great for kids

Nice trail.part of the loop is flooded out. Very unique scenery.

Fantastic trail. Always take the in laws here with the kids. It’s a great loop.

Glad to have gotten here before the bug season so to speak. Definitely be prepared for obvious swamp like conditions after rain.
