The scenery on this hike is quite attractive and the hike going to the falls is easy. Moderate on the way back since there is a lot uphill walking. Very good hike it want to have plenty of time left in your day afterwards.

Beautiful hike and easy trail.

great trail. 4x4 access road gets you a little closer. also has spots for camping

There is a road if you have a truck.... that goes to the trial head... makes it a little hard till you get to the trial head.. after that it is really nice!! We really enjoyed it!! Water is nice and falls are beautiful! Must see at least once!

Awesome

Amazing trail! wonderful sandy beach! Can't wait to hike it in all 4 seasons! Next time I will definitely take my Jeep on down the dirt road to make the trip shorter. The road is not too bad could probably been done without 4WD.

The falls were very picturesque! Would be a fun swimming hole in the summer. The dirt road leading up to the trail head had to be walked if you didn't have a very rugged 4×4 vehicle. Makes a great afternoon trip for families. Don't forget to pack a picnic!

Extremely easy hike with a great payoff at the end. A nice little beach area to camp or relax during a hot summer day. Highly recommended.

unfortunately I had to walk the extra mile getting to my destination because I don't drive a 4×4. heading to the falls is the best part. during summer us more busy but it's still a very beautiful place to visit. definitely kid friendly. coming back walking seems to never end but worth every minute.

Easy hike out to beautiful falls! A hidden gem!

One of my family’s favorite spot. When I was little there wasn’t any trails at all... so we call and have called it “Watermelon Cove,” for over 20 years. It kept a watermelon cold under the waterfall. We go every year and still love it. People respect each other and everyone seems to help keep it clean.

Downfall: if you don’t have a truck or jeep don’t go down the dirt road. Especially if very muddy. However, once you get to the trail it is .6 mile down. Very easy to go down but climbing the little hill to get back on the trail can be challenging for those that have to use a cane to walk.

Perfect for the kids! We had an 8 and 6 year old and an 8 month old (carried in a backpack carrier) who loved it! We came early and were the only ones there for about an hour! The water was ice cold but probably colder than usual due to all the recent rain. We have been on longer hikes than this with waterfalls at the end but this is, so far, our favorite one with a swimming hole.

As others say, don’t attempt to go too far down the trail in your car! Just trust your instincts, lol, & walk.

Beautiful swimming hole! Trail isn’t bad to get to it and the traffic is light.

Great spot! The trail was easy and the swimming area at the end is beautiful. The only problem we had was with the number of people there - you need to come early if you want to have a nice spot. It was also difficult to handle our dog with so many people and their dogs, too.

These falls are perfect if you wanted to spend a day with family and friends on a beach next to some beautiful falls. I cooked out on my grill and waded into the cool water a bit. If we didn't have 4 more falls to see, the entire day could've been spent there.

The road down is a bit rough, definitely don’t take more then a backpack. The falls were great and a nice small beach area. Can get a little crowded.

Way too crowded for my taste. We had limited time and this was close, but the sandy beach at the bottom isn’t big enough for too many car loads of people to spread out. Try a spot on the Chattooga if there are multiple cars there.

After getting lost on the windy gravel road, then trying to get to the trailhead on the washed out dirt road, I didn't start the hike too happy....but once on the trail found it to be very beautiful, mostly wooded until you get to the falls. The grade is fairly easy down to the river and falls. The falls are very nice and there is a sandy area where it would be nice to hang out on a hot day and wade in the water.
I do recommend parking your car at the beginning of the dirt road that leads to the trail head. It is about a half mile hike down to the trailhead, but better than taking out the bottom of your car.

a little hard to find the trailhead. unless you have a good 4x4 don't try to drive down the dirt road, just walk it to be safe. Really fun waterfall with great swimming hole in the summer! Lots of fun!

Just an okay hike. Definitely recommend walking in instead of driving, the road was awful and had huge holes/ravines when I went in January. Not that impressive of a waterfall but a nice hike for an afternoon.

Love it

Nice family stop for a day hike.
Kids can swim in the river, really nice swimming hole.

I love this hike with the family. It's pretty easy going if you drive down the access road from the gravel State Road that leads to the trail head. The sign recommending 4 wheel drive is accurate, especially in the summer when a random thunderstorm can leave it muddy. If you don't have 4WD, hiking it doubles the walking distance and makes for a much tougher uphill hike back to the car. The swimming hole and beach area are perfect, and there is plenty to explore down river and above the falls. Campsites are also plentiful, but please don't camp on the beach. Not only does it flood quickly in a rain storm, but it causes erosion and any junk left behind becomes a beach hazard or washes into the river.

We had a great time at Riley Moore. Had a pretty easy hike in, then wore ourselves out playing in and around the waterfall and had a tougher hike back out.

You can drive through the make shift dirt road to a small parking area before getting to the actual trail. We saw other cars drive in, one that was low clearence like ours. we left the car half way through in a turn out, because the road was washed out and the dips were big. Unless you have an off road, Id leave it parked on the side of the main road. Once you get to the actual walking trail, its a great down hill hike (coming back we broke a sweat) We stayed a few hours at the fall, it was fantasic. We have never gone hiking before. Friends of ours came to visit from Fl. They wanted to see a real waterfall. Im going to check out other hiking areas, it might turn into an addiction!

Good easy trail to the falls. The road is a challenge if you don't have four wheel drive. Otherwise park at the main road.

The directions will take you to a road. If you don't have a truck or a real SUV with ground clearance then park at the mouth of the road and walk. At the end of the road is a parking lot and trail head. The trail is easy and rewards you with a gorgeous swimming hole, so bring your swimsuit.
