First couple miles of the trail is a gravel road, after that it becomes a single track trail through the woods. Lakes are beautiful. The waterfall loop is a bit muddy right now but worth it. The last couple miles of the Palmetto trail are all uphill and don't lead to any good views. Several small creek crossings - plenty of places for the pup to get water.

Great day hike. So a few people but not to many. Waterfall loop is recommended.

Since this trail is exclusively in Camp Old Indian you need to take trail up from Poinsett Bridge. This adds an additional mile+ to the hike. Once you get through the main camp you begin to see trail markers. From there it’s a straight hike to the summit. You get Southern views from the summit, in particular, Paris Mountain in Greenville.

If you do the lollipop loop to the falls and back it is closer to 2.5 miles. About 150 feet of what you will gain in elevation is in the first half mile but it’s a nice hike. It is a really wide road more then trail until the falls loop part. That part is actually a trail. You can hike longer if you want because when you come off the back side of the loop you can take Vaughn’s Gap trial further down instead of going back to where you parked. It is well marked and the stream follows you along the paths so it’s very pretty. I went on a Saturday and saw only one other person. Will definitely go back. Cell service is really spotty there just FYI.

Only open from June 1 to August 1. It would have been nice if the website said they were closed before we made the drive there.

Fairly easy trail, with some uphill. I would consider it an easy hike for those that are fit and seasoned hikers, and moderate for beginners, just due to the uphill portions. I saw lots of hikers of all ages, many with dogs. The waterfall is nice. Good mix of footpaths, with part forest paths and part gravel road (short paved section from parking lot). Signs at junctions made the trail easy to follow. I was in the area and made the unplanned stop here. It was a nice leg-stretcher, and a good trail for people of all ages and most abilities, and dogs of all sizes.

Going trail - best view was the lake early in the hike - mostly easy terrain - steep near the turn back. Not a special view at the top but several nice views of the creek and the waterfall is good.

Beautiful December day and no other hikers around. The trail is quite easy to follow and the surface was excellent. I'll return here for sure.

Nice walking trail. Flat and very manageable. Has small waterfall and great Mountain View.

wanted to drop a review here for people to see, Camp Old Indian is a Boy Scout camp providing year round camping. the trail to old Indian is maintained by a team of volunteers throughout the year but with an emphasis on summer programs.

Really pretty hike! Wish the top was bald to get a view but it was still good. We took the waterfall loop on the way back and was worth it!

rugged, a tad overgrown, but it adds to the hike, the last part of the trail before heading back, is steep and a welcoming challange. as wet as the area is, mosquitos weren't a big deal. no scenic overlook, but plenty of water features for lovely photo keepsakes. over all a great leg burner.

Nice, easy walk in the woods. Great views of Hogback Mtn and Rocky Spur. We loved the pretty little ponds with lily pads and turtles. We saw a beautiful snake on the trail and the nice waterfall.

Nice, easy hike mostly in the shade. Beautiful view of mountains from 1st pond. Great place to walk the dogs or take the kids.

BEWARE!!! I ran into no less than THREE yellow jacket nests directly in the middle of the trail starting around mile 3. I got stung about fifteen times and my dog got some too, even though we ran by as fast as we could. This trail kicked my ass. In more ways than one. It is a very pretty and serene setting, but the last mile and a half is very taxing! I had to stop a few times to catch my breath and push myself to finish it. I bet the views are nice in the winter once you get up there. I feel accomplished by finishing it, but won’t be doing it again. My body is still stinging!

Really pretty walk. It's basically a logging road until you get to the second pond--which is where the beautiful falls are. The back side of the 2nd pond is a bit overgrown.

Not worth it, nothing to see and the hike is hard. Overgrown parts, lots of spider webs, and super buggy. Says there is views but it leads to nothing but a campsite. Waste of time.

Great trail, starts with nice open maintained trail that provides views of some ponds. The waterfall is about halfway & is very refreshing. The trail past begins to thin out, most of the down trees were cut through but our senior dog couldn’t surpass one that was down right near the end of the trail.

Blue Wall trail head to Glassy Mtn golf course via radio tower

Not too busy! Well defined path, and good for bird watching. Don't be intimidated by the 6.6 miles, you can get about 3 and still get a nice view, with waterfall and all. Highly recommend it!

Stunning views, beautiful waterfall, streams and lake! We hiked with our sons, one of which is 15 month and 28 lbs and it was very comfortable. There are a good number of down trees but we just walked around them. The tail is well marked and in the winter walking around a down tree is not the end of the world. Our family will definitely be back!

The hike was amazing. Their were several trees down across the trails but it did not stop the people from coming out. Beware of people with dogs not on leashes. The trail is easy for beginner such as myself and just a good walk for the experienced. Highly recommend this area.

Really enjoyed the trail. A few places where trees had fell and covered the trail.
