Explore the most popular dogs on leash trails near Greenville with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

The first part was more challenging than expected, but manageable for my 10 year old and us. Recommended, but be prepared for the sulphuric springs loop section by mountain lake.

I did this trail a week ago with a mixed age group. Staring at the kiosk go clockwise to do the more challenging part first. The trail up follows a stream with plenty of small waterfalls, small slides, rock-steps, and plenty of wildflowers...even in this hot weather. Once at the highest elevation it follows a ridge and the descent is mostly wide switchbacks. Plenty of small wonders to see if you keep your eyes open for them. We went on a Saturday so there was no biking on the trail that day.

Nice pavilions at the start/finish of the trail for lunch as well as huge picnic tables at the end of the parking area. A good intro to Paris Mountain!

I love cycling from Kroc Center to TR you can stop at Furman along way and eat lunch in downtown TR.
Great for all levels of cyclists however if novice be sure to pay attention and stay to right. Many experienced cyclists use trail and on weekends very busy.

Nice trail for families and pets. Well kept and clean.

Very nice park! Would be more comfortable if maps were clearer or an app was interactive. It was difficult to know where I was and how much further to complete the loop. Great place to bike or run with plenty of shade!

First time today riding on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Started at the trailhead in Traveler's Rest. Something of note is that you cannot park at this trailhead but rather at the Ingles about 1/2 mile away. This will require riding a small segment of White Horse Road as you pull out of the Ingles parking lot to get to Tate where the trail starts, or ends depending on your start point. We rode to the lake at Furman and back. Easy ride, albeit a little crowded at points, through varying scenery including woods, creeks, a lake, and cosy downtown Traveler's Rest - where you can rest on a park bench or at a locally owned restaurant.

Great trail for getting some cardio in! Certainly not a hiking trail by any means but it’s fun to explore. Great for walking, running or riding bikes. Can get really crowded in most stretches but it’s still a great way to get outside.

This is a great easy hike! Fun for dogs and little ones!

Absolutely beautiful even if it was a HOT, HOT day!

The first portion of the trail until you reach maximum elevation is gorgeous with many rock slide waterfalls and of course the dam, but it should really be labeled difficult as the rock climbing is pretty extensive especially where the path is narrow beside large drop offs. I took my 5 and 7 year olds and it was almost more than they could manage.

Great trail. Went early and it wasn’t crowded! Took my dog and we had a great walk!

We loved this trail. Beautiful and fun.

Nice variety of scenes along this trail. At the Southern tip, the wetland environment is great for birding. On the Northern side, the town of Traveler's Rest is quaint shops and restaurants. The trail is mostly flat and ideal for bike riding. Part of the trail is shared with automobile traffic, but the majority is not.

You can choose your own path. Many side trails. Lots of wildlife. Usually see a hawk

Great trail. My only issue was a little confusion right at the end as to where my car was because there apparently were two parking areas. Not that big a deal, but after you are hot and tired you don’t really feel like not knowing where you parked. But great hiking trail!

Love it! The only thing is that you have to park at the fire station which if you don’t know that makes you think your gps is wrong.... lol.... I love this place it has it all and so many trails! And a learning loop for kids! My dog loved it too! She wanted to swim so badly.. please go her pick a trail and enjoy!

Definitely a moderate to hard trail. There are several steep places, narrow paths, and a bit of rock climbing........and I say rock climbing, because I’m only 5’1. Taller people could probably take big steps. There were many people hiking and all were really nice. I did cross paths with a few bicyclists that were friendly. It’s a great place to take your dogs if they walk on a leash well, which mine doesn’t. After the bridge, there’s not much sight seeing. The first part made me think of the movie Lord of the Rings. It’s cute with lots of sun peaking down at the many tree roots poking out of the ground.

First time visiting today. Lots of wildlife which, as a photographer, I really like. Lots of places to sit and wait for that next shot. Will definitely be back.

I don’t see how everyone else reviewed this as easy? My sister and I did this one this weekend and it was a challenging trail, lots of climbing etc. unless we started somewhere differently LOL. Loved the trail and scenery though. Was a great hike!

Nice easy trails. Playground for the kiddos and dog park for the pups and dog watchers alike. Certainly a good spot in Greenville to check out and enjoy a couple hours with the family.

The dam was really cool and the streams were nice but once you reached a point everything was pretty flat and absolutely no views of anything. I would definitely recommend other hikes in the area over this one.

6 year old, 3 year old and I hiked the trail and had an awesome time. Some good steep hills but my 3 year old did fine.

Loved the trails and was great to see some wildlife. There seemed to be a lot of trash on the trails and along the water. Would have given 5 stars if it had been cleaner.

Great trail. Much is good for trail running. Watch for mountain bikers.

Poorly marked, got run over by people playing disc golf.

Fun place to hike and get out in nature. Lots of birds, turtles, and other wildlife. The loop doesn’t exist though, wish it did! Connects to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Variety of trail surfaces including pavement, wooden, and dirt (sometimes mud). Lots of little lookouts to enjoy the wildlife.

Wonderful walk
