The trail is more for historical buffs than hikers, but it's a nice walk none-the-less. Plenty of benches along the trail for those not used to hiking but want to get outside. Very family friendly. The small fall is very close to the parking lot. Took my 6 year old through the trail, promising her we'd stop at the fall on the way back. The area is a nice little spot to play and splash around in. Would definitely recommend for a family with kids looking to get outside.

Nice easy quiet hike. Good history lesson.

My family and I, wife and two kids ages 6 and 3 took a couple of hours to spend here hiking and enjoying the scenery. We saw a brown water snake a little off the beaten path sitting in a bed (swam off faster than I could take a pic!) and an awesome toad. Additionally, some great nature and history lessons along the way. A good wine to do if you want to get a quick one in if you only have the morning to spare.

Super easy little hike! The signs along the trail are very informative, and we learned a lot of history while doing the loop around! The waterfall was a ton of fun; definitely a great family and kid friendly hike!

Nice easy trail. No one else on trail but a few people hanging out in the water near the waterfall which really isn't much of a waterfall

Love the trail. Nice and easy for a Sunday. And the falls afterwards were a nice treat

Took my wife and two young daughters on this trail a few weeks ago. We enjoyed the messages/history lesson that were posted along the trail. Definitely need more trails like this one. We only ran into one person on the trail. The little waterfall/swimming hole near the parking lot, on the other hand, was quite busy. Overall a nice hike and educational.

Quiet and short hike. There was no one else there that day. Took my wife and my two younger daughters with me. A small portion of the trail is next to the river but it isn't good for swimming or wading (as that was what we were hoping to find). There is a bit of a hill climb but shouldn't be a problem for any average person. Overall, good trail and very private.

We stopped here in the middle of a long drive. The kids (10 and 4) had a blast. Very easy trail but the best part by far was the little waterfall and the river. Not too crowded. Beautiful scenery.

This trail winds through forest, hills and swampland. It reaches an historic battlefield of the American Revolution which is well interpreted. It is a very cool, pleasant walk. The directional signs at the loop intersection could be improved since you might find that you are going in circles before you find the way back.

Nice hike. Lots of spider webs across the trail in the early morning.

Beautiful trail, and easy for the kids. We enjoyed relaxing by the waterfall after the hike.

Good trail. But it is 1.9 miles if you walk the loop. The elevation is not too bad. It is mostly shaded. Waterfall is beautiful and is a good place to play in the water
