Starts out easy then turns into a wilderness trek with down trees, hard to spot markers and a barley visible path. It wouldn't hurt to bring a machete.

Did about 4 miles of the trail. Ranger told us (in May 2018) that the 7.5 mike loop was partially closed due to fallen trees following a storm. 4 mile stretch was easy walking, no elevation change. Limited water views, a few places required stepping over fallen trees, and blazes didn’t fully match map from visitors center. Our goal was to stay on the blue trail as long as possible but we seem to have done a cut-through onto the white trail (but never saw white blazes). Also saw a post for yellow, 1 mile, but we were nowhere near the yellow-blazed trail. Thankfully we were recording with this app so we were never lost.

Was not maintained, very easy to get lost. Not much water access unless your dog likes to wander.

The only trail open was the sinkhole pond trail. Nice short trail with lots of wild life and a few large sinkholes.

Nice walk in the woods. Wrong turn had us turn it into a figure 8 instead of a regular loop. Enjoyed it!

Each year we drive down to visit with family in the Charleston area and also head down to Florida. This park is a favorite stop of ours to get out and spend a day taking a break and exploring the trails. The kids absolutely love the easy going trail. We enjoy playing "pinecone baseball" with the large pinecones along the nature trail and always wrap up by playing at the playground for a while.

Nice loop around Santee State Park. We went from remote campground near the Scout Camp to the park hq, then back through the wooded area to the campground. Fairly level terrain, good footing all the way. Trail is well marked and easy to follow. Lost GPS signal from the HQ along the lake back to the CG so mileage is an estimate.
