Do not bring small children or pets on this trail. I'd HIGHLY recommend wearing snake boots and have lots of bug spray on hand. I almost stepped on a huge cottonmouth but I lucky head it shaking its tall in the dead leaves before I got too close. This was an easy trail to follow but I saw several snakes which makes me a little nervous about hiking this trail again.

Great for kids! Tons of mosquitoes, so bring the bug spray.

Fun nature trail! Good for kids, but bring bug spray! We saw 2 alligators and 4 snakes. There was one spot with overgrown grass near a large swampy area that seemed like a prime spot for snakes and other critters to hide, but we just went quickly through that part.

We had a great walk on an early May afternoon at 4. Dappled sunlight, plenty of shade, spotted some crocs. Lots more cypress than I expected. Glad we didn’t bring my son and his bike because the roots wouldn’t be fun to bike over. Interesting history and appealing drive to the entrance made us grateful we made the jaunt.

Went here on a Saturday during COVID 19. WAY too many bikes with small kids and millennials to enjoy nice trails. We had to step back off the trail numerous times to avoid being ran over. Forget safe distancing if you are high risk. Won't return.

Loved this easy trail. GO IN REVERSE DIRECTION. Turn right when you get to the loop because the left is flooded. You’ll have to go through water either way.

Really cool trail! Loved the swamp scenery along with many side adventures like trees to climb, puddles to jump, and smaller narrow passages. Definitely need to be on the lookout for snakes, but the sounds of the birds, other wildlife, and wind rustling the trees was a highlight! There is a small section (50ft?) where the trail is lost to deep puddles. We decided to pass through them anyway and the water was mostly ankle deep. Our suggestion is to take the trail backwards...so puddles are close to the end. Enjoy!

Great trail but I’d wait another week or so before attempting the whole thing. Got stuck at a huge mud pit around 2 miles in going from Rosa Green and I didn’t want to have to do the whole 8 miles all muddy if I fell in. Definitely wear shoes and socks you don’t mind getting muddy. Some of it is flooded very deeply (mid-calf), and some of the flooded/mood parts have deep holes in them my tires got stuck in.

We tried to go here but only open Wednesday thru Saturday. Hope to try again on one of those days!

Great for families- trails were muddy in a lot of places and covered with water so we couldn’t make the whole loop. Saw 2 snakes and lots of cool insects. We were there about an hour. Did need bug spray.

nice trail but if has lots of areas covered in water. we walked the trail until we got to the gravel road then walked down to the water. instead of taking the trail back to our truck we walked down the gravel road to Hwy 17 and down to the truck.

With the recent heavy rainfall in the area there were portions that were very wet and muddy but it was still a great hike once you just accept the fact that you're walking through some water that goes a little higher than ankle deep and thick mud at times. Only saw a few snakes, plenty of small crabs scattering about, some egrets and hawks flying overhead and even a turtle crossing the hiking path on the way back to the trail head at the end of the day. Gorgeous views especially along the marsh and water and the way the sun's setting light illuminates the wooded trails around sunset makes for a really peaceful sight as well. Will definitely do it again with a camera next time to photograph some of the wildlife and scenery.

I was excited for this trail, however, due to the rainstorm the day prior the beginning of the trail was extremely flooded and the first wildlife I saw was a water mocassin skating along the puddle. I immediately turned around and picked another trail.

Short and easy hike/run. To actually get enough mileage in I went around the loop 4 times. There's a good amount of gnats and mosquitos if you stop for too long in the wooded areas so keep moving

Beautiful trail! Plenty of nature to see if you're looking. We walked slow so it took us just over an hour, but we saw River Otters, Alligators, and Water Moccasins. The trail is shaded for 90% of it and there's so much beautiful swamp fauna to look at.

Nice trail but in some areas you need to watch out for dogs running without a leach from local homes.

Great hike with the kids starting at the Bulls Landing. Parts were very muddy and flooded and others just fine. Park gates are closed so you have to walk a ways from parking to trail head. Public access to boat dock closed.

Boat launch area is closed so have to park in the front parking lot and go along road past gate to get to trailhead. Very muddy trails. Great weather though!

recording borked and left running for 20 miles in the car. good trail, fairly dry. not super well marked. made a wrong turn that ment walking a few miles extra XD

Lovely springtime walk through swampy forest. It’s been dry, so trail was dry. No bugs today. Good trek for families, though trail is embedded with thick, ropey roots. Will not accommodate stroller. If it rains, use bug spray.
