good amount of distance and elevation changes. we hiked from 11am - 1pm on a sunny day with some clouds on the way back to the beach. A rocky climb. Great picture at the top.

Gorgeous views from parts of the trail! Also, it wasn’t a huge deal for us but the second half or so of the trail was a bit overgrown.

Note that as of 1/3/19 the Caneel Hill Resort was still closed and no access was allowed, so if you’re looking to hike and then hit that beach area just adjust your post-hike plans accordingly. Luckily the hike (if you’re doing just one way and not RT) ends at a road where taxis are passing by (we got one in less than 5 min) and can take you to nearby Trunk Bay (approx 5-8 min taxi ride from the trail), Cinnamon Bay or wherever else you need to go.

Bonus: super easy to get to after getting off the ferry in Cruz Bay. Approx 5 min walk from ferry dock to the start of the trail.

easy. mainly rocky but you do get some flat spots.

Fastest way to Leister Bay if walking from Coral Bay. Traveling South from Coral Bay we accessed the trail via a fairly steep dirt and rock road. The road was a bit steep on the return trip with loose rock. So definitely need grippy shoes. Once over the peak of the hill heading North the trail narrows to single track with a bit of briars and some steep slick parts.
There are a few parts of the trail that have views of Leister Bay, Tortola BVI, and few Cays. The ruins are great photo ops.

easy to moderate hike. compared to other hikes on the island, it was the best hike. Overall, not much to see but a great morning workout

A good hike that takes you out to a very scenic overlook/outcropping. Like most people say, the trail very exposed and can be hot. The ocean breeze can pick up at the top of the point.

Pretty moderate trail until the last half mile back uphill, it gets a bit steep. The ruins are amazing and the beach it nice too. Lots of wildlife too!

A relatively easy trail along the coastline and then up a small hill. There are tons of birds and two ruins on the hill.

Nice easy trail around a salt pond. There are some ruins that are cool and a boardwalk on the ocean side of the pond.

A nice intro hike to the National Park if you do the loop clockwise out of Cruz Bay. Nice views and a former windmill. The elevation is higher than 26 feet; maybe 100 feet.

Easy hike that provides access to a few beaches and there's a nice overlook of Cruz Bay. Very rocky at points and can be slippery when wet.

The peace hill hike is okay. I’m mainly giving 5 stars because of the SMALLER trail that leads to a beautiful beach on this trail! When you’re hiking up, it’s on your right about halfway up! The trail is a little long and seems to not lead anywhere but then it opens up to a beautiful beach!

Beautiful payoff and fun hike!

Steep in places, but worth it for the amazing views. Watch out for hermit crabs on trail :)

a bit rocky, but a great hike to a wonderful beach. Took the Upper trail going to Honeymoon Beach, and the lower trail back to town.

Beautiful hike! Also very exposed and hot if done in the middle of the day. But totally worth it!

Amazing hike!! Stay hydrated!! It’s actually almost 6 miles from start to finish, longer if you take other trails off of this trail, but stay on the trail leading to the factory, you’ll be so glad you did!

great trail with lots of wildlife, flowers and ruins. many trail options off this one to enhance your hike (petroglyphs, lameshur, lesparance). it's mostly easy, downhill one way, the uphill back is only difficult in the last .5 miles, make lots of stops, beach is naturally beautiful but not for swimming

this is a small .44 miles round trip trail off the bigger reef bay trail, petroglyphs are cool but the waterfall is dependent on water level (which is usually low), I'd recommend doing the reef bay trail combined with this one

super easy, quick and great views of the surrounding beaches! there is the ruin of an old windmill at the top

Great trail to get a bit off the path within the NP...

Excellent Trail for being one of the best access points into the National Park...

Decent, easy trail. Nice if you’re right there, but don’t go out of your way to do it. It starts on a boardwalk going through a swamp, then it becomes more like a trail. After that, it ascends a small hill, passes some ruins, and ends on the road leading to Francis Bay, which is a great place to swim/snorkel.

The trail begins by ascending for a little under a mile at a moderately steep grade before reaching the summit of Caneel Hill, which has fabulous views of the entire Virgin Islands Archipelago. It then dips down and passes an overlook before ascending to the summit of Margaret Hill, which also has interesting views. After that, it descends moderately for a little over a mile, and ends by the entrance to Caneel Bay Resort. I would recommend hanging out at the resort (swimming, eating) before turning back. You can also take a taxi back to Cruz Bay if you are tired. A great hike, worth the effort.
