The first third of the trail is clearly marked with a single yellow stroke. From there on the trail markings are very faint, so much so as to make it inevitable that I would lose the trail often. In addition, the last nor’easter wreaked havoc on the trail itself, which disappears often. I turned back because it was too close to the end of day to risk getting lost in the dark. Will return because this walking area is really beautiful. I hope the trail markers will be updated soon all the way to the lake and back.

Right trail swamps out in April/May. Buggy too.

During hunting season you need blaze-orange to get past Lawton Foster Rd.

We enjoyed this very much. It was a nice loop using two different trails. We have small children 5 & 6 and they really enjoyed it.

Just hiked this trail over the Columbus Day weekend, and it was absolutely lovely on an early fall day with the autumn light coming through the yellowing leaves. Not a lot of elevation change, but enough curves and hills and rocks to make it fun, beautiful little streams, and the old stone building foundations are interesting. After the out and back, I also walked a bit of the Hoxie trail that also starts at the Rt. 3 parking area. Really nice area - I'll be back to hike further out on the Narragansett Trail.

This trail takes you deep into the woods with varying terrain. Plenty of rocks and some elevation. I didn't see a single other hiker on the trail which was really nice ;). Definitely worth checking out.

if you go during summer bring bug spray and wear a hat and sunglasses . long pants if its not to hot. The biting flies are in large supply here.

Short hike/ walk that runs through some farm land with a lot of old stone walls which was nice but half of the trail goes along and through a large logging complex so you hear heavy machinery a lot of the way. Trails were well marked though. Pup got more than the average amount of ticks on this trail as well so be careful.

A small loop off of the Tomaquag Trail at Kenyon Crossroads. This is easy to find and has parking. There's a map at the start. The trail is currently well maintained and marked.

Easy to find section of Tomaquag Trail with parking. A simple short hike. Some historic building sites a long the trail. Well maintained at this time. Some picnic tables and a meeting spot near the beginning.
