This trail, along with many others, is currently closed due to significant storm damage. Unfortunately Childs Park had over 100 trees come down, damaging the many boardwalks and paths. Restoration could take up to 2 years. :-(

as a new hiker it was hard to keep to the trail. I keep trying to do the loop but always end up turning back.

Nice, easy trail. Very little traffic until I got near the falls. This was my 1st hike at Ohiopyle, looking forward to alot more.

Great, little hike! It can be crowded, especially on a nice day. It can also get a little muddy after a rain or snow. It was beautiful, though, and we had a lot of fun! I wish it was longer!

Great trail with amazing views. Agree with other reviews about it being a moderate trail. Stick to the trail and you'll be fine.

Tried this trail for the first time today and I loooved it! I definitely think the rating of moderate is appropriate. I would recommend starting on the left side as you really do get the more lackluster part of the trail out of the way. You’ll know when you find that magical part for sure! Definitely some tricky rocks and water crossings. I brought my dog but he became nervous about some of the climbs/crossings and I had to assist him. Overall I really enjoyed this hike and can’t wait to return!

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Not a hike for beginners but I definitely wouldn’t rate it hard. More like moderate. All the falls are absolutely breath taking. If you’re using your phone for pictures I recommend bringing a portable charger because you will need it with the amount of pictures you’ll take! You could easily get away with wearing sneakers. Just some parts are a little slippery and there’s still patches of snow and ice. But overall 10/10 will 100% be going again soon!

Excellent trail. Varied terrain. Ill be back!

Had a nice time there in the snow. Easy, enjoyable little hike w/ some cool stone features, and close ups of the waterfalls.

Tons of fun things to explore. I will definitely go back.

Perfect for our group cub scouts and Boy Scouts.

Absolute breathtaking hike! Quite a challenge with most of this hike being rocky slopes. I like to do this backwards where you hike to the falls vs. seeing the falls first. Wear shoes with good grip and slip resistant. Get there early as it gets crowded, and dont forget your cameras!!!!

We nailed it and went during the worst weather ever! but this trail is sheltered somewhat and the rain/fog didn't effect us much! Made the colors pop in our pictures too :) Eat at the Rickett's Glenn Hotel...YUMMO! Get the potato thing - it was delicious!

Just hiked this trail with my buddy yesterday (3/14/2018)-(3/15/2018) and man it was a tough one for sure. We planned on camping two nights but there was a lot more snow on the ground than we anticipated. The snow averaged anywhere from 5-9 inches throughout the trail. Wednesday we walked in roughly 5 miles and camped by the Iron Bridge after parking off of 220. There were three campsites and they were all really nice with stone fire pits! We woke up pretty cold to the weather in the teens and the wind blowing which we were expecting but once we got hiking we were fine. We made great time along the LT even in the snow because it was really well marked with blazes on a tree almost every 10 feet. It was a little slippery at times but were were prepared so we had little issues. We made it to the visitor center in worlds end state park quite swiftly around 2pm after starting our hike around 9:30am. We decided we didn't want to stay another night on the trail so we skipped where we were going to camp and hustled back to the car. The link trail was nice but there wasn't a whole lot to look at other than the vista in the very beginning. The link was only marked maybe every 30 yards and was a bit hard to navigate especially in the snow so this is why I have given the loop 4 stars. I would definitely hike the LT again but as far as the link goes I don't think I would hike that section again. I hope this review is helpful!!!

Great trail. Love the variety that this trail offers. Lots of uphill and downhill... I hike this trail on a regular basis with my pup.. And only issue is parking. I love this trail!

I will definitely do this again but I can tell why almost every review says you'll get lost. It is maybe one of the worst blazed trail I have ever been and is the worst around the baseball fields. But I loved the hike and the challenging hills. When the elevation says it's going to go up just be ready to climb.

walking up river via Boulder rock... stop and admire the hippy art work, place is full of good vibes

Easy trail. Nice walk with some water features.

Great little trail.. With many surrounding trails to create an opportunity for a longer hike.. We decided to make a "loop" out of this trail, ledges trail, Copperous Rock trail, and Rhododendron trails. Use caution in parts of Abbot Run trail especially in "winter months" Trails aren't wide and if they are slippery, it would be a long fall onto rocks.

When there yesterday 3/10/18. I was a great trail. NOT marked well at all. Could not find the second half of the loop. We managed to find it then. Horses are NOT ALLOWED on this trail. We will do it again now that we know where we are going.

Beautiful scenery and great paths to run on. Can’t wait to see it in the spring/summer.

Such a nice little hike, many other trails in the area to make a longer more challenging hike.. Balanced Rock viewing area was well worth seeing

Bridges are all renovated and fixed. Muddy but great for kids. Little crowded at points but overall a good hike and close to Pittsburgh.

The reservoir is a beautiful spot. Great wide open camping area.

Just went today. Amazing place however the recent storm has left the trail rather impassable close to the first falls before going up the stairs. I highly recommend waiting at least 3 weeks to maybe a month for trail rangers to clean the trail up from all the fallen trees

Great loop walking along the creek the entirety of the hike. Easy-moderate. Not much elevation change except at beginning/end, but there are a few squirrelly spots with slippery rock in narrow passages (pun intended). Definitely muddy and some points where our boots got wet from shallow running water down the hill.

Great trail! A little soggy in places and had to cross the stream on downed logs a few places but unlike the adventure! The Fall are beautiful! I did loose the blazing but was easy to follow the stream back to the Loyalsock Trail.

Fun hike but trail not marked well, so when your hiking keep your eyes out the trail markers or you’ll get on the wrong trail fast.

Great hike and even better waterfall. I absolutely love this spot. The spot to park can be a bit tricky to find the first time. Once you find it, there's a descent down to the waterfall. The waterfall itself is very, very pretty and excellent for photography. We have had the falls area all to ourselves at times, and at other times have found it a bit crowded. I guess that just depends on when you go. The hike out is steep but it's not long at all.

beautiful little easy hike. just enough elevation change to get the heart rate up a little bit, crosses over a couple small streams. very pretty, and very doable. doesn't actually end at the base of the falls, FYI.
