Wallingford, Pennsylvania Map

There is too much noise from the road (476), lacks signs (AllTrails was very useful). Many beautiful spots, particularly next to the creek.

NOT difficult trail hiking at all. Poorly marked. More of a dirt bike trail experience. And the noise of the blue route is deafening. The park and playground areas along with creek bridges looked good and family friendly. With so many other options for hiking in the area I wouldn't recommend trails that just criss cross back and forth underneath the blue route! Yikes!

this trail is NOT even remotely difficult! more like a Sunday stroll if you ask me or the, at the first time, 6 yr., 9 yr., and 11 yr. old that rocked it out like it was there job! come on guys, look at the pics, does that look hard to you? Maybe for older folks or very inexperienced hikers, but anyone who has hiked even once or twice could do this trail in a breeze.

This trail is not hard. It is paved below Baltimore pike.

I'm VERY familiar with this trail. The trail is paved south of Baltimore Pike(the busy crossing). As for the north part, there are a few intersecting single track trails well worth exploring. As for the paved section it is hilly, and noisy as some have stated. If you wish you could head over to the other side of Crum Creek via Plush Mills/ Wallingford road for the yellow blazed trail in Crum Forest for some nice single track trail.

If you're looking for "nature", this ain't it. It's loud and pretty urban, but it's a great exploration. Lots of graffiti, but kinda cool to check out. Plus the Italian Garden ruins are super cool.

This trail is good for beginners but it is poorly mapped and it can be easy to lose your way if you don't pay attention. The off road portion is covered in leaves and I lost the trail many times and had to ride in the woods. It is noisy and it drops you off in one of the busiest intersections ever. It gets very dark in the trail in the middle of the day. I give it one star for having good sights and one star for being a trail. That's about it.

cool fall foliage but the trail isn't marked well in all areas so it's easy to end up in a neighborhood. close to highways means it can be noisy. definitely saw a prostitute "working" in a truck when we first arrived.

OK trail. More of an exercise bike path for the majority of the trail, which runs along & involves crossing a highway. This makes most of the trail noisy and rather boring. Not much time in the woods, and when you are there are very little to no markings. Very easy to wind up on a bike path and off the main trail... wouldn't hike again...

The trail is well maintained but noisy. I wouldn't repeat it.

Nice hike. No loop, though. Awesome ruins. Wish there was a better opening to Crum Creek.

Sorry Garnett, turns out it's the railroad bridge replacement. Nature lovers appreciate all Swarthmore College does to protect and preserve earth's natural environment/resources.

Best keep secret in Delco for many years. Unfortunately Swarthmore College land-rape current underway at the base of the railroad trestle and mini water fall.

I've been on it 3 times going from near the leiper house, which is also worth a visit, to Smedley park. The only real difficulty is crossing the Baltimore pike though the trail leaves you at a red light Crossway. it's narrow and you cross the Blue Route via road bridge twice. I like it.
