Nice diversity for a short hike - lake, forest and crossing streams (stepping across rocks). Very well marked and as others have mentioned, the loop is actually 2.7 miles. The only downsides are a very short part of the trail is on a street and it crosses a metal grate bridge. Occasionally heard some noises from cars and chainsaws which, of course, takes away from that wilderness vibe. All in all, an excellent hike and certainly suitable for novices.

I love this trail! The All Trails app needs to update info because it's more like 2 1/2 miles. You have to cross the water at a few points. They have large rocks for this. My dogs and I just walked through the streams but I've heard when the water is high the rocks get a bit slick. It's a nice shady path for most of the hike, so it's great on sunny, hot days. Alot of places to stop and get in the lake or the stream crossings. The only big negative is that you have to connect with the actual road (albeit briefly) and walk across a metal bridge. My pups were not thrilled and you would probably have to carry a smaller dog across. A few inclines but nothing major. Overall, I'll defenitly be using this trail again.

This trail is a great! Very good for beginners and those that need a quick loop to enjoy some of the best scenery around. The loop offers biking, fishing access points, and great memories. Family friendly.

Just walked this trail with hubby and dog, really enjoyed it. My app says 2.6 miles so longer that listed. I would also call it moderate, as the path is pretty undulating along the one side. I’d also like to mention that you have to walk across a metal bridge on a road which if you have a dog may unnerve them a little especially if that have smaller feet.
