Easy trail but very, very rocky. Don't do this trail if you don't enjoy hiking on rocks. Did run into a rattler as well. Did not see any other hikers and the trail is well maintained.

Great trail, but be on the look out for rattlesnakes in the boulder fields. I ran into two, so I was a bit too paranoid to really enjoy myself.

Awesome hike, trail markers change from blue to yellow. We decided to make a loop with the Mid State Trail and that made for a much more challenging hike! Best hike I’ve done in PA so far!

Trail should be rated moderate. Generally flat. If you like climbing amongst the rocks this trail has them. Returned on the MST back to Pine Grove.

This trail is extremely over grown. There is no trail, it's all bush whacking. There is no trail, just trees and mud. Do NOT come here for a casual hike, you'll need to invest some good day light

Extremely rocky trail but really nice views on both sides of the trail. Pretty flat and easy.

A friend and I completed this trail as a start on a three day trip along the Mid State trail. It is a Mid state trail spur that starts at Colerain State Picnic area. It has two amazing vistas, both named Indian Loookout. One is on the trail and the other is further up the mountain, still on the trail but along the road to be enjoyed by others in vehicles. I have recently been on the trail as it is one of the areas my family hunts. Many hikers still enjoy it, although it is not overly crowded by any means. The trail is almost entirely uphill and will give you a workout. It meets the Mid State Trail at the top of the mountian. Lots of rocks, and is well known for rattlesnakes. Be careful, but don't let it stop you.
