Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania Map

The last 0.4 miles by wind gap was a tuff ride with washout, rocks and 2 tuff hills. The rest of the trail was wonderful. Next time we will park in stockertown and turn around before the wind gap section.

It’s a good trail to take after supper when other trails are mussy due to so much rain

Super safe and kid friendly; easy bike with lots of great shade and spots to rest.

About 16 miles round trip and terrain varies between paved to crushed stone. Path is almost always either next to a creek or crossing a creek. Last bit near Wind Gap is a little hilly and best suited for a hybrid or mountain bike. My Fuji Absolute "fitness" bike was ok with the hills so if you have something without tread, it is still possible to ride the length. The path crosses several road ways including RT 191 however most of the roads are rural. We only had to stop briefly. There are a few wooden bridges crossing the creeks. On one of them, my tires slipped a bit to the side because of rain the previous day. My only other knock is the paved surface portions can be a bit bumpy with roots pushing up or small depressions. I would suggest just to pay attention to the surface. Very rural and you are looking at a good amount of wooded areas and farms. Half expected to see a bear in a couple of spots. You'll likely finish in almost 40% faster coming from Wind Gap to Stockertown versus Stockertown to Wind Gap. There was a bit of erosion near the Wind Gap portion so be careful there. If you want to stay on paved, start in the parking lot of the Plainfield Township #3 on Rt 191 near Sawmill Golf Course. All in all, it was a better ride than I expected.
