Absolutely love this park. It's so peaceful and the trails are very easy and brush free to navigate. Lots to do as well.

We drove it but there were plenty of places to get down to the river and enjoy it. It might make a nice canoe trip for the spring.

I have to agree that this has too much traffic along it. However, we were part of the traffic because we followed by road.

Weather was wet, but we had a nice time hiking the trails. Made the loop around the lake using the exercise trail, middle ridge trail, fisherman's trail and blue ball trail. The hiking is not too difficult and the trails are marked well. You do a little bit of climbing on middle ridge trial via switch backs. All in all it was a nice day.

We did a multiday kayak camping trip on the Juniata. The water level was at 1.75 Huntingdon and 3.75 Lewistown. This was adequate water for us to paddle with heavy boats. We read this was a rural river but there were countless RV parks and enough trains and traffic to make you feel like youre in the city. The boat ramp at Huntingdon was very nice. The take out at Mifflintown was less than ideal, primarily due to parking. The Mifflintown PFBC access is better if you have launch permits. On the first night, we camping at the island around mile 70. It was adequate. The second night we were planning to camp on one of the islands downstream from Lewistown, the three public islands were not suitable. We had to go down to Mifflintown and camp in between the private islands. We saw a lot of birds which included 5 bald eagles. I could hear animals flee when I approached shore but could not see them. There is a Sheetz at the access in Lewistown and a tavern across the bridge. This was convenient for camping. This was a good trip but does not have rural/nature feel to it.

Easy to moderate hike around the lake. Some short climbs but a nice early season hike. I hiked this with a group of eight people some from the Sierra Club. Lots of nice wooden bridge stream crossings. We took our time so it was closer to 3 1/2 hours

I love Little Buffalo so much, I got married there (at the mill). beautiful, peaceful, easy trails ~ great for hiking, running, picnicking, etc.

I have been wating to do this trail for years and I finally scheduled it in. This park is great for hiking, boating, fishing, swimming and camping. I hiked the Middle Ridge Trail, Little Buffalo Creek Trail, Buffalo Ridge Trail and the Mill Stone Trail to make one large loop around the lake. Middle Ridge Trail could be labled as difficult do to the switchbacks through the spurs and draws but most of the other trails are moderate. Keep and eye opened for wildlifeas you traverse across the narrow trails riddled with rocks I missed opportunities for pics of the wildlife because my eyes were looking down at the trail. Trail is very well established, a couple of directional signs are in need of fix up but the trail is unmistakable.

Easy to moderate hiking, some gradual inclines ... well maintained trails. The park has some cool sites. I prefer something a little more challenging
