I walk here all the time, it's beautiful and convenient in all seasons. There is lots of wildlife including herons, Kingfishers, and coyotes.

Can enter area from several locations. Egypt Lake entrance is more rocky hiking around lake but beautiful. If you follow 390 down farther to Bruce Lake trail the path is smoother. About 1.5 mile hike to Egypt lake or 2.5 to Bruce Lake. Both beautiful.

This is my practice trail.
Good hills for conditioning.

One of my favorite little trails in the park. A scenic walk through the trees in any season, with nice views of the lake.

Hiked with our 11, 10, and 5 year-olds, and they loved it. However, we came across several families with scared/crying/injured kids. This is NOT a hike for unpracticed families. Hiking boots, not sneakers, definitely help kids with the upward rock scrambles.

This was a great trail with lots of little challenges and easy passes.

My favorite trail

They put a pipeline through here which ruined some of this trail. There’s also a lot of ticks. Otherwise, a good place.

Great trail. Short but easy to do the loop twice. Dog friendly

Lots of people running and walking. Dogs on short leash only.

Nice trail with a great variety of things to look at and picturesque spots.

Beautiful views and stunning rock formations. Keep alert though because this trail intersects with others and we got turned around more than once. take a map with you.

Peaceful and clean.... A friend told me about this place and I am glad she did. Nice hideaway Hazel__eyes .

Beautiful and sort of easy. Well maintained. Need to pay to get in ($14.5). Def come back

Absolutely stunning. The challenging terrain is worth the views!

A good workout, nice foliage- in summer, the trail is a bit overgrown.

The beginning of the trail is not easy to navigate because of overgrowth. We had to cross a small creek that was about a foot deep with no option but to get into the water. After this the trail was easy to find and full of laurel and rhododendrons however the uphill climb became rigorous. Overall the trail was pretty but required extra effort at the onset.

Ticks. Lots of ticks. Be warned, be prepared. The reforestation area has a lot of open field and wildflowers.
Scenic trail with a couple areas crossing and following the small stream. Trails weren't very well marked. Didn't complete the loop, ended up turning back half way as the trail became too overgrown with lots of thorny bushes. Did not make it to any area that overlooks the Susquehanna.

Beautiful trail with lots of great vistas at the top. Completed the 30.5 in 44 hours, 2 nights, going north bound. The terrain changes up a lot, from flat, incline, decline, rocky, stream crossings and just about everything in between so it is a great trail to get a bit of everything. There are lots of camping sites on the first half from the southern terminous but on the second half we spotted a lot less and didn't see any in the last 6 miles but we were moving quickly because it was raining so we could have missed something. Also the second half is the most senic if you are going north bound. There was plenty a water along the way. We saw 8 people NoBo on the second day and a group of 3 guys and a dog head SoBo along the trail.
All in all this would be a great trail to take your time. I would have love to do this trail in 3 days instead of rushing through but we had a time limit.

This is a very difficult hike but the views were amazing .This was my longest hike ever and I will do it again . I have no complaints at all .

Gas Well Path is a beautiful and difficult hike. The ascent is challenging and beautiful. There are several paths at this park that you can choose to continue your hike. Would highly recommend.

Hiked on a humid Sunday evening. The trail was empty with only a few people at the falls. The trail to the falls is easy, but getting to the pools below is definitely challenging. Not sure if there’s an easier way to get to the bottom. The water is very cold but refreshing and the scenery is fantastic.

Had done this trail years ago and was looking forward to returning yesterday. Unfortunately we had our dog with us and were told immediately that no pets were allowed. Disappointed.

for those of you that hike this and made it to the look out did you turn right at the pink ribbons before the campsite. we had trouble finding it.

Very nice, easy hike. No bugs, no mud, and beautiful views of the lake!

Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. During our trip the trees provided a wonderful canopy from the rain and the hot summer sun for most of it. Great trail with some exciting challenges throughout.
