A good, long walk through the battlefield. I used the map on my AllTrails app to supplement the trail guide, and missed a few things. My favorite parts were following Pickett's Charge across the field to Cemetery Ridge, and of course, Little Round Top. The section along Confederate Ave was quieter and less crowded than the other parts of the walk. .

Nice mostly paved trek. A small area goes into high grass with a narrow path. It’s optional but be aware of ticks if you choose to take this route. I opted out because it was very muddy and I didn’t have bug spray with me. Be sure to venture to the top of the PA monument to get a great view of the battlefield.

Took this trail every year as a kid on our annual trip with the Boy Scouts every April. Would like to go back and do it again soon as it has been years. I will agree with a previous review about taking plenty of water

Very well kept rail trail with beautiful views and benches along the way. Can be hiked as an out and back from South Fork/Ehrenfeld or connects with the Staple Bend Tunnel Trail and lower Path of the Flood Trail for a longer hike/ride to Franklin (Johnstown).

Nice 1.3 mile trail from the outskirts of Franklin (Johnstown) to the Staple Bend Tunnel Trail, joining that trail right at the historic tunnel. Well maintained, only a mild incline near the end, benches and historic informational signs along the way, and a picnic table on the other side of the tunnel. Great for walking with kids or pets. 2.6 miles total to the tunnel and back, or 3.5 miles one way from this trail head to the parking lot at the far end of Staple Bend Tunnel Trail.

It is paved, marked trail. Walk to the left around the back of the visitor center to access the trail without going inside the building (no backpacks allowed and fee to enter). Wear insect repellant. We returned with four ticks with spray!

This trail is a great and easy walking path, a nice way to get out and get some fresh air and easily enjoyable for the whole family....Do get directions for parking off the ghost town trail website instead of using the directions button on this page it does not take you to it but other than that a really nice trail.

Very well-maintained trail! I travelled from the John Saylor Park in Blacklick to the Scott Glen Bridge around the 12 mile marker and returned back. Very nice views with some history along the way. Chances are you'll encounter some wildlife along the way. I spotted two porcupines crossing the trail and a few deer here and there.

Great for biking. The trail has moderate inclines depending on which way to way. I've ridden Dilltown to Vintondale and Rexis a few different times which is a nice bike ride.

This is another great trail. I only road from Dilltown towards Ebensburg about 15 miles and back. It did rain on us and this cut our ride short. As a side note, I lost a perfectly good cell phone in the porta potty. If you hear one ringing, it's mine!

I didn't follow this trail exactly but did a very close version of it. Trail is very easy to follow (paved a lot of the time) and has great history and views of the battlefield. Really enjoyed this hike and would recommended it to anyone who enjoys history and easy walks!

I really enjoyed the walk! The only thing I did not like was that you had to walk back the same way.
