The trailhead is not marked. It looks like an old logging road and is just past the yellow house on the left. That seems to be the last house. I parked just past the trailhead on the right where there was enough space for two cars. The trail is fairly rocky and uphill all the way to the top. There are a few level spots along the way. There was a small stream that you cross and can be seen from the trailhead. I thought it was a nice hike, but not one I am likely to do again. Lots of birds, chipmunks, small toads, and other creatures. Pretty ferns, moss, and mushrooms. The trail ends at a gravel road and that is where the Furnace Trail sign is located.

It was the start of the hottest days of this summer and after a little rain. Getting to this location made me want a jacked up truck because of how bad the road was. I parked my car at a gentleman's house after asking permission and started my hike.

The hike was nothing but up with no alternating slopes. The only animals I've seen were bugs and a bat when I reached the top. The flies and mosquitoes were particularly annoying being there the whole time.

The trail was not easy to find. You take Huckleberry Lane for about 1/3 mile. You will pass some houses. If you come to a gate you went too far. The trail is on the left just after the last house on the left before the gate. It crosses over the creek and goes up the hill.
