I only went one way from Washingtons headquarters to the visitors center. in the beginning there was a steep part that wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't raining. Otherwise it was a very pretty relaxing walk along the river/train tracks.

Moderate, hilly hike in mostly shaded forest. Pretty popular with a fun option to tour Washington’s encampment. Good for dogs and children.

Great historical walking trail

This was our first visit to Valley Forge National Historical Park and it won’t be our last. The trail is paved most of the way so it is perfect for an easy walk through history. The last mile or so is near a busy road, but besides that the experience was very enjoyable.

While not especially interesting on its own, I use this trail to create longer out & backs with the Mt. Joy, Mt. Misery, and Valley Creek trails. While there's a few short ups & downs, the Chapel Trail remains mostly flat and shaded, making for a leisurely stroll through the woods.

I went in mid February on an unusually warm day. Lots of people, espically joggers. Trail and historial monuments/places were poorly marked, i believe this is because I went during the off season. Overall though it was nice and relaxing

Great easy hike! Very cold but worth it. Liked the historic buildings at the end.

Perfect walking trail with rolling hills and beautiful historic scenery. Great training loop for longer distances.

A wide, very easy stroll through the woods in Valley Forge National Park. There's not much to see along this hike, but you can combine it with the Valley Creek trail in either direction and turn it into a short loop.

Went with first timers and a 4 year old. A lot of incline but we all loved it.

The Mount Joy loop trail is well shaded, rocky in places but a fairly easy trail even for children (mine are 7 & 10). It took us under 2 hours to do the 3.5 miles. The trail is obvious and well groomed. No chance of getting lost. There are no places where you have to scramble over boulders or climb. Parking is abundant at the lot off 252.

Great walking or running trail!

It is great trail!

Love this place. For the most part it is easy paved rolling hills but we added the Mt Misery to Horseshoe Trail which added some nice solid hiking. We ended up doing just over 8 miles but you can shorten it or lengthen it to your desired hiking time. A little touristy due to all the historical significance, but well worth the effort to make this trip.

Heavily trafficked trail. the back side of the trail around horseshoe, and misery were less crowded ave most challenging considering it wasn't paved like the rest of the trail. nonetheless great history and sights to be seen

Kind of a muddy walk, but the trail is very well maintained, allowing for a pleasant hike on a rainy February afternoon. There are a few great sights overlooking the park that make the steeper parts of the trail worth it.

Very nice trail for trail running. I parked in the Knox Tinder parking lot and ran up Mount Joy out to route 23 and then went up Mount Misery down to Yellow Springs. Steep in spots and easy to stay on course compared to some challenges I had with Misery. Was raining slightly and saw a handful of others including a Boy/Cub scout troop but had a lot of it to myself. Just need to pay attention to rocks while running and one really fast downhill but overall great trail.

Good for exercise but not for nature sightings. Not too busy but little shade so it was very hot. Recommend bringing water for the full loop.

Once you get into the woods the experience improves significantly. Outside of the woods trails are mostly pathed. Much better for jogging. Still historic houses, and other sites to see. Overall worth the trip.

It was a very beautiful and scenic trail. The wildflowers are beautiful and smell amazing. I enjoyed watching the birds and butterflies as well! The only down side for me was the portion of the trail right along the road, it was loud and not very peaceful but other than that I loved it!

Beautiful surroundings. The best part is once you're in woods!
