I hike this trail atleast 5 times a month. Its amazing. Im just wondering how to get to the butcher hollow outlook nearby.

A local favorite - accessed it in Bowmanstown where there is a nice fenced in dog park. Also some very nice small waterfalls -

Once past the lookout and down by the beautiful rhododendron groves the trail is rocky. This is where my dog was bitten and killed by a rattlesnake on the middle of the path hidden in the rocks. Be aware

Amazing trail! The views at the end were fantastic. Was very walkable pretty flat through the whole trail. Definitely check for ticks after I found 6 on just myself after leaving.

Absolutely loved this trail. This was not too difficult for my 10yo and 6yo sisters. The view at the end of the trail was breathtaking and cannot be justified by a photo.

Awesome trail! Super relaxed, and easy for two inexperienced hiking pups. Directions within the app are great! One suggestion is once you reach the destination on gps, you can continue driving through the trail, there’s more parking!

Park at state game lands. Wear orange, just in case. You start down a path/road for a mile and then there is a path ( not well marked, follow yourself on the map) to the right, into the woods. Take that about a mile to the MOST spectacular view you’ve ever seen! The hike is easy and most is road. I did this on a rainy day alone by myself for the first time and the view was worth the slight fear of being hunted since I didn’t have orange

Grab a machete before you go Tarzan, because your going to need it to complete this “loop.” I say “loop” in quotations because if you decide to follow this “trail” up the creek and series of waterfalls, you will be going through thick brush for about 2 miles. Not the regular kind, the kind where you’re crawling on your hands and knees, because the foliage in mid April was just that thick. Afterward you will meet up with an over grown trail called, and I’m not kidding (see the actual trail map), Me So Thorny. And boy did Me So Thorny deliver...lots of thorns that is! Oh! And if that weren’t enough, after the “trail” tells you to go straight into this thicket for another 2 miles through completely untamed bush... but only if you dare! We didn’t continue down that “trail” we knew where it would end...our arms and legs would be very scratched up of course...

State game lands have been established as wildlife management areas, and to provide opportunities for hunting and trapping. All other recreational uses of these lands including trails are considered secondary uses and subject to management discretion, therefore not all trail requests will be approved.

This is a short, moderately steep path covered in mostly loose rocky due to the fact that this was an access road at one point. Trail is a strong word to use here. Once you get to the top the view is pretty good looking north west, you can see some of the Lehigh Gorge Park and Glenn Onoko falls. Honestly for us the best part of this hike was the view and the other trails we took back down the mountain. We started on Pisgah Plane, cut over to what is marked as unknown but is a fairly well known bike trail and hit Galens Revenge back into town and ended up in a playground. I wouldn't discourage anyone from hiking this but I'd definitely plan on linking it together with some other trails, as doing an out and back on this would just be meh.
