Horribly marked on where the trail begins or how to get there. Horribly marked during trail. Horribly and I mean horrible maintained. Had to walk through grass and thorns up to your waist to end.

This is more of a walking trail. Nice lake views and access to the water.

If you are looking for an easy/flat trail this is a nice stroll by the lake. I would recommend extending your hike to the Lake W Creek Trail that almost connects to this one. If you do both you’ll get a combination of a longer hike (3 miles) and a change in scenery. Also, we had the trail to ourselves which was nice. I rated it a 3 because it’s not one I would repeat and doesn’t feel deep enough in nature.

Had done this trail years ago and was looking forward to returning yesterday. Unfortunately we had our dog with us and were told immediately that no pets were allowed. Disappointed.

Smooth easy trail following the shoreline. South of the visitors center/beach it is open with great views of the lake. North of the visitors center it is in the wood line but there are some points where you can go down the lakes edge. The trail is improved with gravel, mulch or pavement so it is easy walking for anyone. A pleasant walk.

The info for this trail is utterly incomplete. It is not an out-and-back trail. It is in fact a network of trails on the Dorflinger-Sudyam Wildlife Sanctuary all totaling about 4.8 miles.

Trail after you get to Bruce lake is completely overgrown with blueberry bushes. We walked through in fishing waders. If we didn’t have them on we would have been scraped and scratched. The bushes are over my head, I am 5’2”. Very dense. Very uncomfortable. There is no views or lake access after the first open area you arrive at. It is more or less a very long walk in bushes and some swampy areas.

I was legitimately lost, alone, for 1.5 hours with a dead cell phone. The trailblazers are less than adequate if you can even find the trail - which is overgrown to say the least. I crossed many logs on many streams, found my car by following the sun and directing myself. Soaked, covered in ticks, dehydrated and panicked. I had my gps running on my phone to follow the trail - useless. Don’t trust it - it lies.

It was a nice hike in the forest until I couldn’t find the trail once I got to the power lines. There was some new decking that was put up under the power lines with a plastic fence. No way to see where the trail continued. I tried walking under the power lines to get back to the car but ran into a swamp and had to track back and take the same way back. Make sure you go through the gate on the left from the parking lot there is a sign pointing to the beginning of the trail a little ways down the road under the power lines.

Just a nice walk.... Start out by the wall and walk thru campground to add more miles.

Attempted the trail today, 7/11/17. Narrow trail, crowded with vegetation. As a tall guy, I spent 80% of my time ducking and weaving. Made it 1.86 miles to the junction with Telephone Trail and there the trail became almost completely overgrown, so we turned around. An unpleasant walk- but very remote, if that is what you seek.

Trail was poorly marked. It was a beautiful day. I got about 30 tics. Drop a pin at your car, if you want to get back alive.

walked under power lines, then trail through woods along fenced area to protect seedlings from deer. There are some slightly hilly areas, but still was fun walk. Two ticks came home with me, but all in all another trail on my list.

This is a wide flat gravel fire road. 6.4 mile loop with a bit of incline in sections. Great for beginners. More experienced riders may not find this enjoyable.

Easy hike. Marked well in the woods, however, when you have to cross under the electric lines at the far end of the trail, theres nothing marked. We walked over a 5' tall weed field to get into the woods and finally found the trail again. Some white tail deer, woodpeckers and other assorted birds.
