Went out yesterday about about 930 am and no one was there. Good trails. Don't miss the turn at the top of the trail though. The down hill was pretty technical but definitely do-able. Beware of the hunting/hunters

Easy walk with a few hills. We did see quite a bit of wildlife (deer, turtles, muskrat, frogs, birds, and fish) but the traffic noise made the trail drop in points. We completed the walk with our 7 year old and will look to explore others in the area.

rocky but fairly flat on the combined pink and light blue trail blaze. It was midday, lots of poison ivy so keep to trail unless covered well for bush whacking lol. I heard the rush of water from creek along my left side just a few bird calls not many sounds. Damp terrain some slippery rocks, iavoided any hilly areas, used walking stick for support. Good place for some reflective walking. Did see about a handful of people along the way.

Conveniently in the city... with typical city background noise. Towpath Trail was fairly flat and well maintained. Lots of wildlife and vegetation to help you forget that you’re in the city. Got busier after “normal” work hours.

We did a short part of trail. Was beautiful even though we got a little lost and it rained! Wear sturdy shoes and note that areas can be wet.

beautiful and easy walk with plenty of opportunities to take scenic photos. great for me and my dog to run or walk. quite a few people on bikes. can get crowded at times, definitely worth a visit.

my dog and I Iove this trail. not busy and gets the heart rate going! so pretty in the fall!

This is my practice trail.
Good hills for conditioning.

We have completed about 4 of the trails and find them to be both relaxing and a challenge. loved the Wetlands festival too. great for kids as well.

Great hike! At one point a black bear crossed the path in front of us. That is the second time in a row we saw a bear at Boyd Big Tree.. not sure if that’s the norm, or if we’re just lucky :)

Loads of wildlife and flowers, smell of honeysuckle strong now. I’ve been main trail plenty of times but took the east shore trail today , well worth it. Much fewer people, tons of wildlife; trail was easy albeit a tad mushy in places

Loved it!!! Birds, turtles and frogs!

A good nature walk. The terrain is fairly flat with abundant wildlife and vegetation. The main trail is asphalt covered. The trail would be perfect for someone with mobility issues

Not entirely sure why this is named "Darlington Trail" since the actually Darlington is on the west shore. Anyway, we do a similar route to this once a month, to monitor changes in vegetation, water, etc. Great trail and I love the overlook it provides. I will probably be uploading my route next time.

Really nice trail, easy to walk on, not too crowded!

Surprisingly a great place to go to see tons of wildlife. Well maintained trails, easy walk.

Just a great trail for all seasons. On a cold day (38 degrees) we saw deer, a woodpecker, a titmouse, several redwing blackbirds, Carolina wrens, cardinals; truly an amazing display of wildlife. Do yourself a favor and break from the paved trails. Take the rough route. It’s worth it!

I loved the manicured wide trails and the peace and quiet of this place. It is quiet and there were only sounds from neighboring properties where people were shooting around. Strange. The park is beautiful and the trails are partly very challenging. It was a cold grey day when I was there and worked up a good sweat. The inclines are very good! It also has a lot of connections from one trail to another if you want to lengthen or shorten your hike. I saw ONE other person while there and that made my day!! The only not nice part is the high tension wires along a part of the trails. They detract a lot from the natural beauty of the place. Otherwise very worthwhile!!

cool place to see some birds and a little wild life right in the city not to bad

Beautiful scenery and great paths to run on. Can’t wait to see it in the spring/summer.

Absolutely beautiful and amazing. Walking the trails, bird watching or fishing.

Been here multiple times and it never disappoints. A 3 mile loop and the scenery is different the whole way around. Beautiful park and friendly people. Wildlife is small and easy to spot. Took my pup here a few times, she loved it, access to trash cans and poop stations. There could be more poop stations, but it’s still nice. They even have dog water bowls attached to the water fountains.

Nice easy loop, lots of nice people and dogs!

could not find safe parking.

"Easy" probably a better description. No steep climbs, no bouldering. Most trails are wide, soft, well-maintained, and well-shaded.

Highly recommend picking up a printed map at the trailhead, and noting which blazes to follow on which sections of the hike, the trail network is complex.

The section beyond Blue Mt. Parkway is unmarked, overgrown, and skirts private property. Highly recommend long pants for this area, as it is highly overgrown.

Simple, easy trail for walking, hiking, or biking. Pretty but the proximity to I81 takes away from the natural environment.

Appreciative of this park. Very good for kids & pets. Fun and the boardwalk is really neat. Not very challenging, I do like that it's a nice option close to the city. Road noise is very evident.

Nice lesurely hike for kids
