Nice hike. The trail circles around a marsh, so, not surprisingly, there were unavoidable patches of ankle deep mud and water. And mosquitoes. Lots of mosquitoes. The Jean Aron path is worth the entire trip for its peaceful beauty, easy path through open woods.

Rewarding hike for the death climb at the beginning. Trail gets a little overgrown in the medow but still fun.

I did the thing backwards. Easy part first on a 90 degree day in July. Ridiculously easy walk in the park, omg then got tough. Fun trail. Be prepared for bugs and muddy feet.

Great hike! So very quiet. My dog and I started on Old Laurel Run Tr and linked up with the Fire Tower Rd, Midstate, Spruce Gap and Three Bridges Trails. Took us about an hour and a half, not including the time we spent wondering around the top of the ridge. Spruce Gap Trail is steeper and has loose rocks, but you can catch some glimpses of the mountain side. Weather was perfect, looked like rain but it was cloudy and breezy most of the hike. We began our hike around 5 p.m. Will do again. Accessible and fun.

Beautiful day. Towards the end lots of clear cutting which made the trail rough. No real views but a great workout.

Great hike. Trail to the top of the mountain was very steep and icy. Easy from that point forward other than the deep snow and eater covered bear meadow trail. Some fantastic views from the ridge.

Almost completely flat except for the initial ascent and subsequent descent. If it rains, the lower levels flood pretty bad.

Pretty steep climb with more gravel than I'd like but shady and quiet in a beautiful wooded area.

Great for a workout and mushroom viewing. Took a connecting trail at the top after the fire tower instead of walking along the road.

Challenging trail. Nice for seeing mushrooms, picking blueberries. There are few good views, however, and the fire tower is closed. Pretty mountain laurel at the start too.

Little flat trail is neither little nor flat. It's a pretty brutal trek to the top, but totally worth it for the views. I ran into a rattlesnake, so keep your eyes open.

I would call this moderate to difficult!!! But I appreciated the challenge and stream and flowers to be seen. You can avoid the roads by taking lesser marked / upkept small trails and still do the loop.

Fun trail, difficult descent, not very populated, also a very difficult climb up. However walking on the roads at the top is very pleasant

I would not call this an easy trail for beginners, it has a little more than 1000 Ft elevation and slippery area which would be safer with hiking shoes on.

The initial hill climb was a little brutal but the views were more than worth it. We went in late February.

Fantastic views

Well maintained trail. It is a cardio challenge going up. About 1,100 ft elevation gain from the trailhead to the tower. I would come the same way I came up next time, as the trail on Spruce Gap Trail is washed out and rather tricky with those smaller rocks.

easy to moderate trail- lots of wildlife (including mosquitoes!). Done this trail several times in recent years- best in spring early summer- muddy but lovely wildflowers.

This was a pretty easy trail and not as demanding as some of the others around Rothrocks. Good for dogs and children
