Significant climb in the first mile of bulldozer (about 1200 feet). Levels off to a peaceful flat trail. The nearly three miles of bulldozer are very secluded. Once you reach the end of this 3 miles you'll start to see people. There are no rewarding views at the top due to the trees but if you take the falls trail down there are beautiful sights, but on a nice day the trail becomes quite crowded as you near the falls. All trails are well marked.

Great gorge hike but a busy trail. Lots of wet rock based stair steps. Moderate difficulty hike but definitely a good workout. Plan to spend time enjoying each waterfall.

The trail was nice but unclear. I followed Google Maps to the first right past Jamison City Hotel and followed the road until I parked at the first Game Lands parking area on the left. I continued up the road past another parking area and then to a bigger one which led to presumably Sullivan Falls. Just beyond the parking a double track trail veers left off the road. This is the trail. It is relatively easy to follow at this point but has no blazes. About a quarter of the way, just after a stream crossing over a waterfall, an orange blaze appears, but you won't see more for a bit longer. For the middle portion of the trail the blazes appear regularly, but you really have to search for them to keep on the trail in some areas. The blazes disappear once you begin the final descent. You will cross one more waterfall and then walk up to a clearing and head down an access road, just like in the description. I followed this road all the way back into town and again turned by the hotel and walked up the road to my car. I have no idea where the turn was supposed yo be. With the extended walk on the road, my loop totaled over 10 miles. Keep exploring, Mr. Nutters

Falls Trail is beautiful and an excellent workout. Well maintained. Water falls are stunning. Recommend going on weekdays. Ankle high boots are best. Enjoy nature❤️

A pleasant enough short and easy hike through the woods with informative nature signs along the way. The trail seems to have been conceived to celebrate an old-growth stand of hemlocks that had escaped the axeman. But the character of the trail has been altered because there are a number of dead standing hemlocks, presumably due to the wooly adelgid pest.

Moderate trail but not too bad. Great photography opportunities along the way. Definitely a great spot to visit. A hike after extended rainfall might lead to wet, slick trails, but the falls are worth it.

Hi Everyone, I am looking to hike the Falls Trail tomorrow 4/4/19 It looks like the temp is going to be about 55 degrees and it hasnt been that cold in PA for a few weeks. Does anyone know if the trail will be open and if so will I still need crampons and ice axes etc? I tried calling the number given on the PA DCNR website but I keep getting a busy signal. Thanks for any assistance.

beautiful trail, still super icy near falls, be super careful

Went out looking for ice; unfortunately coverage was minimal. We traversed the entire loop without strapping on spikes or crampons. Still a great hike and not another soul out there. We’ll definitely be back when the real cold sets in.

A delightfully informative trail. Perfect for everyone. Some steep steps at first. Beautiful view of Adams falls.

Great hike! By top the prettiest waterfalls I’ve seen in the area. I would definitely do it again. The trail is wet and slippery with many steps so wear hiking boots but worth every step. Do the hike after some rain so much better.

There may not be a single better trail in Pennsylvania. Wear good footwear, waterproof and good traction on wet and slippery stone. Even if it is a dry day the spray from the waterfalls, and the smaller streams that feed the main one will make the stone wet. Most of the steps are simply cut into the stone. Far more sturdy than wood and mud, but can be slippery. Most of the hike is in a valley, keep this in mind when picking a start time, the sun will "set" early. Wind from the valley will make it seem much colder that it is in the surrounding area.

Great trail with great views. Whole family enjoyed the hike.
