Easy/moderate depending on the weather. Great views of rural PA

I wanted to add some distance so I parked at the AT parking lot by the Pine Grove Furnace and followed the AT to the back side of the trail.

the trail system is confusing, I really wanted to do the loop as shown on this AP. Even so, I picked a beautiful day and had a blast. it's early January, and hardly any other people, just how I like it. I will go again and hope to find the loop.

great hiking up and gorgeous views. if you follow the path behind on the northwest side it goes down a less steep way.

We went in December, 35 degree weather, perfect time of the year for it because the steep trail makes you sweat- so you won’t be cold

The middle ridge trail is awesome. Overall good state park!

Walked the loop this morning. Some places are a bit of a challenge but, enjoyed every step.

This trail is nice if you want to appreciate the foliage or water. The trail is lower in the mountains, so don’t expect a scenic overlook, but the stream next to it provides beautiful rock formations in blue-green water. At a fast pace, you’ll feel tuckered out by the end!

So far my favorite place in PA!!

this is a nice relaxing trail rather you ride the road or trail, I like to trail ride in and road ride out.

The hike is moderately difficult up along the steep side (I recommend decending down the alternate blue route when it’s slippery). The trail is obviously thoroughly well-hiked, and is a little difficult to follow at times because folks have hiked along the sides and off the trail so much. It was definitely busy while I was there (an afternoon in mid September) which isn’t my style. Lots of off-leash dogs, so beware if you have a reactive dog or dog that doesn’t like strange dogs too much.

Loved it.
Cant wait to go back again.
My 8 yr old grandsons first hike. He had a Great time

A family centric trail. Nicely paved and generally flat wooded joy ride. Plan a picnic and bring the bicycles. There is a beach and boat rental. There is something for everyone.

Nice peaceful trail along the lake. Passed a few others out with dogs, but not much traffic. Gets a little hard to follow on some areas near the beach, but as long as you’re following the lake you’re fine. Came across a deer who wasn’t bothered by me at all.

Use to hike this all the time in college! I remember all the fun times! Can be super rocky and steep but the view at the top is gorgeous! Must see for sure!

Trails were poorly marked.

If somebody asked me “what is the best first trail for me to hike near Pittsburgh?”, I would say “Kildoo Trail”. This is a great length; it requires you to work hard, but it’s not overwhelming; and the scenery is BEAUTIFUL. The terrain is steep, but manageable. Definitely wear boots and take water. And on nice days, be ready to share the trail with others ‘cause it gets CROWDED. But it is a beautiful hike that you will love!

So many nice little spots to relax by the little river.

Lots of wildlife, Flowers, beautiful boulders, waterfalls, covered bridge and a working Old Mill. Good hike a little rocky and muddy in spots. Probably my Favorite trails in Pennsylvania

Hiked the north country scenic trail to handsome lake Campground. The pump at the well does not work so be prepared to filter water From the Kinzua Reservoir. But the Great View's of the sunset at the campground made it worth the hike. Trail is a little slick when wet but not a very difficult hike just a long hike through the woods, not very many changes in scenery like I'm used to in West Virginia.

Very doable, short trail with a fantastic view at the top! I definitely recommend this trail to anyone in the area.

great trail, beautiful area, busy trail with a variety of pedestrians (bikes, roller bladers, runners, strollers, dogs, etc).

Tough hike however worth it. Various terrain with many different views. We added the cold run spur with this loop which added an additional 1.5 miles. Would definitely consider doing this again.

Dima had a great time on this woodlands trail! We will definitely be back when we have more time to explore!

I live about 20 minutes from Canoe Creek. I love the hiking trails here. They're perfect for relaxing day hikes. The trails are extremely dog friendly as well.
