Trail head is marked but once you get in there is no sign which way the trail goes.. go to the left. This app helped me go the right way though. Sections of the trail are slightly over grown but nothing that stopped myself, 2yr and 5yr from continuing.

Absolutely stunning, the trail was amazing with amazing views. The offshoots were my favorite. There was a ton of snow on the west side of the trail which made it a lot more challenging, but overall it was a great hike!

I hiked this Trail on Sunday January 13th it is a great Trail with gradual climbs I believe the mileage is off a little bit my tracking said it was 10.7 miles from the trailhead to the lookout and back. I would definitely recommend it the views from on top 4 spectacular of the red Buttes

Arrived at 12:30pm and a school bus was leaving (thankfully). Overall, it was crowded. My dog and I ran into 5 other dogs and 10-15 people altogether. Everyone was very friendly, but the trail is narrow and steep in lots of locations, so be mindful of Fido and the leash rule. Some muddiness, as to be expected. One bridge was out and atop the

Does anyone know if this has opened back up?

Nice trail for an easy walk with two dogs. There are only a couple narrow spots- otherwise the trail is mostly flat, wide, and dry. Good vantage points to see/access the river.

Nice urban hike opportunity! Gorgeous flora and fauna. Majestic redwoods. Well traveled trails that are very well marked and have good signage.

Great hike!

Nice day use area!

You can see from the road, beautiful area!

This was the first time that I did this hike in the winter. It was amazing! We just hiked in our boots. Crampons could have been nice here and there, but it was totally doable without. We passed lots of people with snowshoes, which wasn’t necessary at all. We were definitely a lot faster and more agile. The hike overall is moderate. It took us a little under 3 hours to complete the hike (out and back). The view on the summit is stunning. Very windy though. We were able to see all five mountains. Such a treat. This hike is definitely one of my favorite ones. Great in any season!

It is beautiful trail covered with snow. Some areas are very slippery. Unfortunately, I didn’t see Mt Hood. I am not sure it is due to weather or just missing it. Lake is frozen and has lots of foot print. I have no guts to step on it.

Caught this trail on a sunny winter day and it was perfect. I took the inland route straight up, which was wide and fairly straight, and full of old growth sitkas. I walked out to the lighthouse view and listened to the huge tides crashing below. Continued the loop down along the coastline and caught a number of different views of the sunset. Western trail was way more interesting with twists and turns and different vegetation. Highly recommend!

nice and relaxed. beautiful views.

Beautiful New Years day hike. We saw 3 deer, and the sunny winter light was lovely. Easy.

Such a beautiful hike on a crisp winter morning I recommend this hike to anyone! So many beautiful waterfalls

As good as it gets for dogs, anyway. I walk my dogs here almost everyday. They have several well maintained trails winding around the woodsy area. I manage to get 3-4 miles here without repeating too much territory. The dogs can run free through the woods, open fields, and a beach area while I get my steps in. I’ve been mapping my walks on my Garmin. I’ll try to figure out how to upload the activity so AllTrails users can check ‘em out.

Pretty icy in spots but worth it in snowshoes. Went up on Tuesday and saw 6-8 other people/dogs. Right now you'd need crampons or snowshoes, I saw a few people that turned around because they couldn't get very far. The payoff at the lake is fantastic, it's frozen over but there are some visible warm spots along the shore so I wouldn't recommend walking on it.

Great hike with fantastic views on a nice day! It was a bit steep at times. It was very doable for us in winter.

There is now a parking area that is plowed adjacent to the Ski Bowl parking lot. If it’s winter, make sure to get a Sno-park day pass.

We snowshoed, but we would have been fine with crampons/microspikes. Icy patches made it tough for folks without.

Quite the calf burner, but made for an incredible first time hike. The views are worth the grind up to the top. Couldn't imagine walking this during snowfall or heavy rain due to downed trees in parts and narrower paths. All in all a nice gem of a hike.

Went on a Cold Sunday morning hike. We took the Kopetski trail loop and came around the back side of jawbone flats. No worries you end up on the same trail you start on. We started our hike at 11 AM and got done at 2:15 PM. We only saw two other groups of hikers until we started to head back, then it was a bit more crowded, but no problem as it’s not nearly as bad as the summer time. Dress warm/layers as you are hiking in a canyon that gets very little sunlight and it’s cold until you warm up from hiking. We stopped for a small lunch at jawbone flats and had to layer back up before we got going again. Love this place. BRING CASH OR CHECK for parking. And if you can spare it, the town takes donations too, and once you see how pristine they help keep the town and trails you’ll want to donate. Great hike for all ages and skills but the Kopetski Loop is a little more rugged and step, would not recommend for little ones or people with old knees. Enjoy.

Definitely need spikes up until about Mirror Lake and from there on out. Many people on snowshoes and in spikes. People with nothing were slipping a lot. Icy and well packed. Going up TDH mountain was relatively easy, this is my first time doing this hike in winter but second overall. Windy as all hell at the top! Sky was clear and Hood was shining!

great family hike. can be muddy at times and slippery in some spots. still a great and beautiful hike.

the first part of the trail was the hardest, I went straight up the mountain from the church parking lot, when I came up there were patches of snow still on the ground and some deep snow at the top, I brought my 2 dogs with me and they did fine, it is a pretty fun trail I like going around the long way a little better, more to see on the way in my opinion

Beautiful and scenic hike to do in the winter time; but the difficulty level goes from easy to moderate when there’s snow and ice.
A “must try” hike, when snow has fallen!
Micro spikes or something similar highly suggested!

Gorgeous views and easy enough for a beginner (like myself) at snowshoeing. Would head back for sure and would like to explore on x-country skis next time.
