It’s a nice 30 mins walk on a flat terrain with a great view of the river

Easy with some elevation gain and loss. Lots of trails but trail remains in the same drainage basin so it is pretty hard to stay lost for long.

Absolutely loved it

Very, very easy trail.

A nice, easy, well maintained trail.
Kid friendly as well.

Absolutely love this hike. Have hiked it 3 times so far, plan on going more.

Beautiful hike, and views. Definitely will go back

Well maintained trail, some dog poop, very little trash. Beautiful forest.

Really amazing hike, had so much fun! Amazing views and a great workout. The first stretch was the hardest but after the first mile or two it still gained quite a bit in elevation but was pretty easy. The whole loop took about 3 hours with breaks to watch the rock climbers, loved it!

great family hike....steep going up... easy down I really enjoy this hike whenever I'm in southern Oregon

Great hike just out of town for family and dogs. Can be busy on nice weekends though.

trail running

I head here when short on time and needing a quick run with a little bit of climb. This loop is intended to be run clockwise though I often see people going in the opposite direction. My only complaint is that part of this trail is actually just paved path or road, boo. But all in all it’s decent for being urban. On a clear day there are views of the waterfront/downtown and even with the crowds, it’s usually still peaceful and easy to maneuver.

Beautiful, quick and easy.

Trail was amazing to run! Lots of scenery. Quad crushing hills. Sign is hard to find, FYI.

The only reason I gave it four stars was due to getting to the trail head. If you love to rough up your vehicle then by all means travel the last 5 miles up there early spring with pot holes the size of a car. BUT! Totally worth it. The pools and streams where beautiful and still recommend the hike

Great hike! Went last year, and plan on going again soon. Good hike to take kids, we even took one of those big wheeled child stroller’s. Much is a road. Ppl in the town are pretty friendly and it’s interesting to see how their energy set up runs.

Super pretty hike. The entire trail was covered in hard packed snow and some ice. Boots chains and poles for the win!

Nice stroll through the woods along the creek! looks like a popular swimming hole on hot days!

This trail is not easy for sure, there were parts that were very muddy and nearly washed out. Careful where you step else you could slide down the mountain. Totally worth the risk however, the further you go the better the views. Still snow on the ground in March, one of the most beautiful hikes I've encountered yet. Another downfall would be the sound of gun fire from below, but if you can block out the noise this can be a relatively peaceful hike.

I'm here in mid March...beautiful!

Easy hike with multiple options for trails. We did about a 2 mike loop.

Excellent hike with stunning views on a clear day! Tough incline heading up, but well worth the views. Snowshoed in mid- March

Beautiful place!

Great hike anytime. Both falls are beautiful.

One of my favorite short hikes. The falls and pool are beauriful. Be sure to go when the runoff is at its peak.

Went this weekend. It was amazing. 3/17/18 it was snowy still, slippery in some places. Be careful, but otherwise wonderful!

Tried to make it out here today. First, we drove past the trailhead, we thought it might have been the trailhead cause we drove over railroad tracks but our Google Maps told us to keep going. We only went a bit further though before it started to snow so we turned around and went back to where we'd crossed the tracks to give it a try. However, when we got out of the car there was audible gunfire from nearby. Turns out the trails runs parallel to an area where people like to practice shooting, even though there we signs that said "no shooting" (but they had bullet holes in them...) Anyways, we opted not to try since we weren't sure it was the correct trail head and the proximity of the gun range to the trail seemed too dangerous for our comfort. Once home I confirmed that the area with the gun range was the trailhead so we may go back later in the year when it isn't snowing.

Just a nice simple walking trail alongside the Long Tom River, upstream from the Fern Ridge Reservoir. Parking requires a state Fish & Wildlife parking permit, but there is nearby parking. There is a portable toilet in the parking lot. This trail is flat, shaded, but well maintained. There are a couple of side trails, and a loop at the end. Out and back is about a mile.

Still some snow on the trail. Snow, rain and hail on Sunday.

Hreay trail. We met the director of Land Trust and learned a lot about the area.
