This is a nice trail in the forest with river views and a small sand beach. My 2and 3 year olds loved splashing in the water and watching the boats.

The entrance of the trail is behind a small neighborhood park. The trail was surrounded by trees and is a muddy decline down that is steep. The stream was beautiful to walk by. I would only not recommend this trail because the pathway is not clear and gets really muddy. Since it’s on a steep slope it just doesn’t feel very safe.

Nice short neighborhood trail. Initially Its a muddy decline so I’m glad we wore boots.

All the other trails are closed like no access. Stick to the paved trails and it’s an easy little path!

This beautiful trail is nestled into the sounds of nature and gives plenty of space so that multiple groups can explore the area at one time . There is a few trails that cut off this loop. The issue is that the trails are not well marked . If you stick to the wider paths you should stay mostly on the river loop trail but other unmarked trails connect to it so just be aware of your intended destination. Happy walking/hiking!

good trail overall. I saw that it was listed as kid friendly, I would have to disagree. The sun doesn't shine through the trees and the trail is a bit muddy near the creek. I wouldn't let my kids do this trail because of the narrow/steep paths near the creek. in the open space portion of the trail, the grass was thigh high in some spots. be cautious with children

Trail is open. Gets narrow in some places and it appeared to have poison oak in many areas but was avoidable. Goes through the woods, open fields and cuts through a neighborhood. Overall very nice for being in the city.

Pretty difficult when it’s raining we had to walk slowwwww in the woods section of the trail.

Easy hike for kids. Pretty well maintained. Can connect to other trail systems to extend your hike.

Great for kids. Pretty flat other than coming down from/going up to Buck st or Holmes st. Well maintained.

Very short loop, but made the most of it with our 3yr old. a couple spots to get down by the river with some rocks to throw. most days that's about all he needs.

This was fun, we went off the trail a little and walked closer to the water as well

This is a nice inclining and declining city neighborhood trail that definitely has it's challenges. I would recommend trying this hike out if your in the local area. It doesn't have to many long range views except for a really good Mt. Good shot but the trails are engulfed in good ole healthy gorgeous woods.

1/4-1/2 paved. We came down through the off-leash dog park area. there is a land bridge over to the island, and it was lovely. Depending on which trails you take to get there, some are muddy.

Fun trail at Mary S Young. There were signs that said Cedar Island wasn’t accessible until April 15 at the earliest, but the water level was low enough to get across. Once you’re on Cedar Island, there really aren’t maintained trails. The path can get muddy & slippery so be careful. Great views of the Willamette River. Dog friendly.

Great trail - lots of beautiful views down by the river. Dog friendly. In fact, there is a nice off-leash area by the river for your pup. This trail can get fairly crowded, but is easy to follow and well maintained.

Great trail with a lot of beautiful views. Dog friendly. In fact, there is a nice off leash area down by the river for your pup. This trail can get fairly crowded, but it’s easy to follow and well maintained.

Nice trail with a lot of decent views. I would recommend one of the river trails over the other trails at Mary S. Young because of the variety in scenery. Dog friendly. Some sections are good for trail running, but not the whole thing.

This is a fairly easy trail. It’s basically flat the whole way around except for a couple quick steep switchbacks to get through these little gullies. Dog friendly. Good for trail running. These trails are beautiful, but it’s all the same after a while. I would recommend going down to the river to get a little more variety in scenery.

This is a very short walking trail along the soccer fields at Mary S Young. Compared to the rest of the park, this trail doesn’t have much scenery. Dog friendly. Good for trail running - many other trails nearby.

This is a very short walking trail through part of Mary S Young. Dog friendly. Good for trail running. Decent scenery. Many other trails nearby.

The majority of this trail would rate as easy. It’s a well maintained trail that’s fairly flat. There is a pretty steep hill on the backside if you’re trying to get down to or up from the river bank. Although, you can easily avoid that hill by backtracking. Dog friendly.

One of the better “hiking” trails in West Linn. The trail itself is narrow, slanted (from side to side), steep, and not very well maintained. Also, parts of the trail don’t get very much sun, so it can be quite muddy. But, it’s a great workout and there is a lot of great forest scenery. Dog friendly.
