Trail in good shape!

Fabulous trail with great infrastructure. Bridges and creeks and well marked at every junction. I loved some of the vistas in planted clear cut area.

Nice easy trail. The falls were very pretty and it was a good quick stop. My GPS took me up Rutherford road and DON'T GO THIS WAY - incredibly steep gravel road at the start and muddy too. Coming from Beaver Dam road is much better. Be cautious of bikers and potholes on the road up too.

Very nice and tall waterfall. Not much of a hike, but it was a pleasant stroll through the forest. The road had a lot of potholes, but was short - my FWD hatchback was fine with some careful maneuvering. Good to check out if you're in the Tillamook area.

HikingGreat!

Trail is short but worth the trip down a bumpy one way road to see this amazing waterfall.

parking lot is shared with ATVs and dirt bikes parkings. Trail crosses tons of ATV trails. Can hear gun range during most part of the trail. Not a peaceful hike at all.

Mountain biking

A few fallen trees are blocking, but crossable. Slippery today, with rocks hidden under leaves. Overall, great!

Walking

Bumpy one lane coming in- go slow. Short, easy hike with big payoff. Trail is closed as you get closer to the falls but still have great views of the falls.

Nice short wooded trail. Nothing too exciting but good for a quick stop.

HikingOver grown

Did the one-way as shown 10/2/20 and didn’t see a soul. Clocked 7.1mi 1850ft. The bridge and river just over 2mi in is nice and there were a couple decent views later on (see photos) but nothing too interesting. Add Kings Mtn Summit hike to the end of this (additional 2.4mi 2500ft) and you’ll get the payoff view you deserve.

First person at the trailhead at 7:45am, went clockwise as suggested and it didn’t disappoint. I was the only person on the trail until the falls. Ran into 3 other parties between the falls and trailhead. As others noted, you do get close enough to the gunshots to smell the gunpowder, and there are off-road vehicles on nearby trails, it can sound quite close at times. It does get a little tricky to figure out which trail to take when it splits between story burn and gravelle bros but they end up intersecting again anyway. It was super rainy today so poles helped. Not a bad workout. Apple Watch clocked about 4hr, I’m in pretty good shape . Enjoy!

Easy hike with two kids and bigger than expected water falls. The road into the trail is super bumpy and one lane in places so be careful

HikingGreat!

I started this trail around 7AM on a Saturday with my three dogs: 7 (y/o) cane corso, 6 (y/o) pitbull, and 10 month pug. Overall great trail. It makes several passes across gravel roads and dirt bike trails that probably get busier throughout the day. I used my map to follow the trail in some sections but it’s fairly easy to navigate. To make it to the falls, you have to go down the trail with the university falls sign near the waypoint on the map, the other trail leading to the falls is a little misleading. When I got back to my vehicle, the whole lot was filled with off-road enthusiasts. I camped in the parking lot the night before to avoid that and left right after we were done. Found a bunch of oyster mushrooms too! No cell service (download map) Have fun! @joe.gardenbelle
