It's well worth the trip. The road was not as bad as previously stated. I took my Subaru Legacy up and it made it just fine. I suggest taking hwy. 199 to Selma then a left after Rays market, follow the GPS from there. It is a climb but there are Amazing views the whole time! You can even see Mt. Mclaughlin at the top. A bit windy and lots of shattered glass up there too. We only seen two other hikers that day. So peaceful!

I hiked this Trail on October 7th after a summer filled with smoke that finally left the view was breathtaking. the hike up the hill was not easy it is very Steep in places. it took me 3 hours to get to the top because I had to stop numerous times to rest. one of the best hikes I have done to date.

Trail is closed due to recent Taylor creek fire. Trailhead unreachable. No word on when it will reopen.

I can’t rate the trail-just the navigation to the trailhead, I linked to maps from all trails & ended up on a remote poorly maintained road. I was in an SUV & rode through deep ruts & over dead tree limbs but after 3 mi on this road I encountered a deep washout that I knew was impassable so had to reverse out until I was able to turn around. So, if you want to try this trail, see if there is a safer way in. I gave up & found an easy trail down the road a few miles..
maybe this is why there were no current reviews?

Just like everyone has said it’s definitely a strenuous hike since your climbing the entire time. Plenty of places to take a break in the shade.

Glass still all over the summit but I did take some back down with me.

Not the experience I was looking for... Out on the edge of this I came across a guy that was growing pot. As I got farther down the trail I heard several gunshots so I cut it short and got out of the area...

Awesome drive with great views... Views of the devastation left by the Biscuit Fire as well. Only scenic drive I've seen with a billboard that included a pamphlet that talks about the drive.

I see know I took the wrong turn and could have gone farther. Beautiful river!

Nice views but interesting. A lot of money to make a wood and trek walkway. Excellent place for our wheelchair bound friends...

Loved this trail. I hadn’t hiked in a while, so I had to take a lot of breaks on the way up, but it was worth it. The sign at the trailhead says 3.5 miles to the peak, so it’s 7 miles round trip. It was really foggy on the way up, but started breaking up at the top and we had a great view above the clouds. I will definitely do this again.

Great hike. Path a little confusing at times but worth it. Beautiful views of river and falls. Would wear hiking boots instead of sneakers next time.

The views from the top are amazing. This is a strenuous hike so bring lots of water.

I hiked this trail with my kids recently and in our opinion, it wasn't the most interesting trail in the area. We much prefer the Little Falls Loop and the Boardwalk Interpretive trail. If you want to see more of the boardwalk and the Jeffrey pine trails, here is a link to our YouTube video in which we document our hikes. :) https://youtu.be/lPJ7wtx5iG0

Tried to summit on 3/11, made it to the false summit before getting into snow shin deep. We decided that was far enough and enjoyed the gorgeous view. No snow in the parking area, only after the first few big switchbacks.

Great trail. Just a bit muddy in the winter months but very beautiful.

took my two year old. it was a fun hike but definitely not more than 2 miles.

I love this trail. First few times I got fooled by the false summit--it did seem a little too quick for 6.7 mi. Then went with someone and we kept walking and followed the trail a ways further, then turned back. Made the summit the next time solo. Such nice trail variety--lovely in the fall. Went up today, but the snow's too deep to go past the false summit. Magical in the snow. Bye for now, KP--thanks for helping me remember what's important in this mad world

Although the trail tests endurance as you climb up, it's well maintained. Beautiful forest! Views at the top are incredible and so worth the effort.

I would recommend this hike in the Spring or early Summer. The water was pretty low when we went (August) and the falls were nearly non-existent. It was also hot and smokey from the forest fires, so that didn't really help with the experience. The trail is rocky and narrow at times, but still easily passable and not difficult. It's a pretty hike and I'll have another go later on. Maybe even in the winter.

I really liked the steepness of this trail and that most of it was pretty well-shaded. Beautiful views from the top, and lots of butterflies, flowers, and lichen along the way!

This trail is exactly what everyone said it would be: a strenuous but doable hike with amazing views and just a lovely hike to the summit. I was a little disappointed in the summit; there's a lot of broken glass, but the views all around were spectacular. I saw no one on this hike, and mine was the only car parked at the trailhead. I also saw one snake on my the descent about a mile from the trailhead.

Are Jeffery Pine Loop and Little Falls Trail combined in your mileage tabulation? I either lost Jeffery trail or they are combined. Confusing.

Hiked on a beautiful day. No one around until the end when I saw one other person. Challenging hike up, but not difficult. The summit views were amazing with clear skies!

Nice view, also a bit of a workout getting to the top.
